I am pondering names for future children. We have an [name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. What are good brother and sister names for [name]Annabelle[/name]? We can’t use [name]William[/name] or [name]Abigail[/name], but everything else seems to be fair game. Can’t wait to read your responses as we are TTC soon and I would love to have the names set in stone before we get pregnant b/c naming DD was so stressful at the hospital! Thanks in Advance!
****[name]Edit[/name]:I originally posted this as a hypothetical, but now it is REAL! [name]Just[/name] found out we are 12 weeks pregnant with [name]Annabelle[/name]'s brother or sister due in [name]December[/name]. We don’t want to find out sex so we need names for both genders. Thank you if you have already posted and helped. I want to have both names fairly soon so I will not obsess about names until the end of my pregnancy.
So give me your best shot…[name]Annabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and __________…Also last name is Hanback if that helps. Thanks so much!
I love [name]Annabelle[/name]. I always think [name]Phoebe[/name] and [name]Annabelle[/name] would make great sisters. Or…
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Bennett[/name]
[name]Charles[/name] nn [name]Charlie[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]George[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
Thanks for the suggestions so far. Many are on my own list for the girls.
I like [name]Georgia[/name] (except it got bad reviews from family last pregnancy-they said wait til you have a boy and name him [name]George[/name]!) I also have [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Natalie[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Delaney[/name] on the list. [name]Annabelle[/name] is an old family name and I would like for this one to have a family name too, but the rest of the family names I don’t really care for as first names. The only one would be [name]Delaney[/name] for aunt [name]Elaine[/name]. Would it be okay to use a family name for middle name instead? My mn is [name]Pearl[/name] and I was named after my favorite great grandmother. I would like to use it, but don’t want one daughter to have my name and the other one to feel left out. Also, I don’t know if with [name]Annabelle[/name] being a longer name if I should give this one a longer name too or a short name to offset it. I guess right now my crush name is [name]Lucy[/name]. I just love how simple and short it is. [name]Clara[/name] is also along those lines too. If we did a long name the top contenders would be [name]Emmeline[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name]. My hubby says I over think it!haha!
My favorite combo for a girl right now is [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]-[name]Pearl[/name]…What do you think?
For boys I go from liking classics like [name]Wyatt[/name], [name]Corbin[/name], [name]Simon[/name] and [name]Luke[/name] to more modern names like [name]Cooper[/name] (have always liked for some reason), [name]Carter[/name] and [name]Holden[/name]. If we have a classic name like [name]Annabelle[/name] (was great-great grandmothers name) should the boy have a classic name as well? MN family names would be either [name]Sherman[/name], [name]Clyde[/name], [name]Andrew[/name], [name]Brian[/name], [name]Alec[/name] or [name]James[/name] so far.
Sorry for all the questions. If I get all my answers from the naming pros I won’t have to bug my husband as much! Thanks guys!
Congrats! [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] would be particularly divine with [name]Annabelle[/name] - both longer and French! I think there is a poster on another thread right now who has an [name]Annabelle[/name] and an [name]Emmeline[/name] - GORGEOUS!
[name]Delaney[/name] is a great name, I think however it is VERY different in feel from [name]Annabelle[/name] - closer to unisex (even though it’s really pretty femme to me, and more modern). I feel similarly fwiw about [name]Harper[/name] - only even more so because that one is very celebu-baby right now. Use either by all means ([name]Delaney[/name] before [name]Harper[/name], I’d recommend), but it’s not the best “match”. [name]Elaine[/name] actually is a solid one, French-y, but I’m guessing you don’t like it. [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Helena[/name] or [name]Elena[/name] would also be well matched to [name]Annabelle[/name] and related to [name]Elaine[/name]. I don’t think it’s too weird to have one have a family name and one not, but if it makes you uncomfortable obviously you can stay away. Matter of taste really : D.
Re: [name]Pearl[/name] being short, [name]Margo/name, [name]Margaret[/name], and [name]Marguerite[/name] all mean pearl and would fit well. [name]Margot[/name] for being French, [name]Margaret[/name] for being long and classic, and [name]Marguerite[/name] for being both French and long. [name]Do[/name] you like them?
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]-[name]Pearl[/name] is really wonderful overall and I think [name]Annabelle[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] are sweet together. I’d have a mild preference for [name]Lucinda[/name] or [name]Lucia[/name] with nn [name]Lucy[/name] just because [name]Annabelle[/name] is so long, but it’s minor. the -y in [name]Lucy[/name] and E in [name]Emmeline[/name] are slightly hard for me to say together, but again it’s mild. [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Lucy[/name]-[name]Pearl[/name] is also really sweet!
FYI I like all of your other girls’ names pretty well with [name]Annabelle[/name].
Ack, I didn’t get to boys’ names and need to run, but I’ll post again later. Good luck!
Congratulations! For what it’s worth, we have an [name]Annabel[/name] and her brother’s name is [name]Oliver[/name]. We’re expecting our third and if it’s a girl, we’re going to use [name]Eliza[/name]. We have quite a list for boys, many of which have been mentioned here already. You have excellent taste! Good luck. Can’t wait to see what you decide.
I think you are reading into your sib set too much!! It doesn’t matter if [name]Annabelle[/name] has a sister with a short name like [name]Pearl[/name] or a brother with a not so classic name like [name]Holden[/name]! I think what matters most is if when you say your child’s name that you love it!
Have you thought about using [name]Alec[/name] as a fn? I think it’s so handsome!
[name]Holden[/name] [name]Alec[/name] is really cool sounding!
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]-[name]Pearl[/name] is a lot of name! Maybe just [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]?
I also like [name]Clara[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] too!
