I was raised in the 90s, and every other girl was named Crystal. Now I’m an adult, and I haven’t met a Crystal in 10+ years. Where are the missing Crystals??
I know a [name_f]Krystal[/name_f]! Only the one though. They must be hiding somewhere.
=1
I also went to school with many over the years, and then in 2003 my little sister [name_f]Crystal[/name_f] was born! Lol so there’s one.
[name_f]My[/name_f] boyfriend has another [name_f]Crystal[/name_f] as a coworker, and that’s the only 2 I’ve known so far as an adult.
i went to school with a Crystal, she should be 18 or 19 now! she was going by Cat the last time i knew her, though
I know a 12 yr old Cyrstal!! They’re still out there, but I wonder if it began to feel tired/dated - like [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f], [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] etc?
[name_f]Crystal[/name_f] never took off as far as I can tell in Australia - even when she was a 1980s-90s fave in US. I think it was always seen as an American girl name (while now Aussies using a lot of “American” names - [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u], [name_u]Parker[/name_u], [name_f]Callie[/name_f] etc). I am heading into icky territory but I don’t think pop culture helped the name - often used in shows as the low income girl / victim of crime etc. Seems unfair - it’s a spunky name!
I know a 2 year old [name_f]Crystal[/name_f] her big sister is Del@ney!
I know a 16 year old [name_f]Crystal[/name_f] who goes by [name_m]Crys[/name_m], and a 30-some year old [name_f]Krystal[/name_f]!
I went to middle school with a [name_f]Crystal[/name_f]
Wow now that you say that…yeah tons of crystals growing up and where are they now?! I guess easier to spot those trends when we spend so much time with people our age. [name_f]Brandy[/name_f] and [name_f]Misty[/name_f] were similarly popular around that time and I never meet one now!
I know several. A nice name
I know 2 Crystals in Australia (well 1 is Kristal) and interestingly they are both of Korean descent!
I know two local Crystals, both probably in their 40’s. I remember in my church growing up [name_f]Crystal[/name_f] and [name_u]Stacy[/name_u] were the cool teen girls
This must be an American thing, as I’ve never met a UK [name_f]Crystal[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] guess is that people see it as incredibly dated, as people who have kids today probably all went to school with at least 1 [name_f]Crystal[/name_f] in their year/grade. Probably the same reason why you don’t see many Melissa’s or Jenna’s or Amanda’s being born today.
I have a friend named [name_f]Christal[/name_f]! [name_f]My[/name_f] guess is that some of those 90s Crystals started going by nicknames or middle names, because I think some people see it as a bit of a stripper name. And the rest became nurses [name_f]My[/name_f] husband is a nurse and he’s had at least one coworker [name_f]Crystal[/name_f].
