What if Not Enough Nelsons had normal names?

Welcome to another crazy idea from the twisted brain of mine.

So I know that there’s been some chatter on NB about the NEN kids’ names, the random capitalizations, the way too overly kre8tiv names, etc. So I thought why not do a post on the Nelsons-with NORMAL first names. So changing as less as possible, here’s how it would look:

DD1 [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] ‘[name_m]Kenn[/name_m]’ [name_m]Nelson[/name_m]
ADD1 [name_u]Journey[/name_u] [name_f]Mechelle[/name_f] [name_m]Nelson[/name_m]

Thoughts?

I love the NEN Fam! I honestly love that all of the girls have a captial letter and an ee ending on their names. Seeing their names normal is weird for me, but that’s just my opinion.

I think my only real issue with the NEN names is the fact it’s predominantly the girls facing the brunt of the names that will cause confusion. It’s always struck me as a little weird that the creative name craze has mostly gone for the girls side and not the boys. Guess it just makes me think about societal norms and why people aren’t making boys’ lives harder in the same way. Either way, the names are said the same so I suppose I don’t understand picking the hardest way to spell the name but I’m happy to hear experiences and reasons why people did that.

@emelfem I think that maybe the girls get the more unique names because they’re supposed to be more creative/quirky and would care more about them being one in five Emmas in the class than boys would care about being one in five Liams. In fact, it’s not like they named the boys [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_u]James[/name_u], etc-I’ve never heard of another boy named [name_m]Ledger[/name_m], and I don’t think [name_u]Bridger[/name_u], [name_m]Trey[/name_m] or [name_m]Beckham[/name_m] are super popular in the US either (but ofc I could be wrong so)

I like your ideas! Here are some of mine… trying to change them as little as possible but using names I like (or can tolerate :joy:).
