This can’t be empty, so I’m filling it out.
I think it’s a nice name but my first immediate association is, rather unfortunately, the drug
It’s not my style. It’s just my preference, others may think it’s a lovely name but it’s just not my type not to be rude or anything.
I picture a pudgy 7 year old or a nosy old lady, and I also just don’t like the sound, it reminds me of the word maul (merriam webster def: verbof an animal) wound (a person or animal) by scratching and tearing)
Again, not trying to offend anyone, just my opinion this is literally just me I have weird name taste
Still could be a nice choice!
It feels kind of warm, slightly rugged and friendly
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] feels happy, lively, smart and kind of outdoorsy to me!
I know two Mollys, one pre-schooler and one in her 30s. They are both really outgoing, fun people!
I’ve always absolutely loved the name [name_f]Molly[/name_f] while not feeling a particular way towards similar names-- I still have no idea why!! She’s beautiful, open, knowing, and passionate. This is very specific imagery but for some reason [name_f]Molly[/name_f] reminds me of a life-filled, windswept coastline with a few quiet spots sheltered from the motion.
Drugs and party
Warm, down to earth and friendly! I picture a redhead.
I picture someone spunky, spirited, outgoing, smart, a bit sassy or sarcastic, and maybe with an athletic or outdoorsy streak.
These associations might come somewhat from the American [name_f]Girl[/name_f] doll named [name_f]Molly[/name_f], a fun-loving character into canoeing at camp…and also from some hip contemporary journalists, including [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_m]Young[/name_m]. The drug association is not great, but not the first thing that comes to mind for me.
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] Weasley – sweet, nurturing, and kind, but also bad*ss and strong! I adore [name_f]Molly[/name_f]!
I immediately think of the [name_f]Brittany[/name_f] [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] movie uptown girls, a hidden gem in the chick flick genre. I just get so much Y2K nostalgia.
Also that song from the same movie " [name_f]Molly[/name_f] smiles "
I love reading everyone else’s associations with this name! So interesting.
When I hear [name_f]Molly[/name_f] it feels very antique/vintage a bit [name_f]Secret[/name_f] Garden for some reason. I like the description of the coastal feel as well.
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] feels like a happy carefree girl skipping through cornfields with a picnic basket and purple ribbon on a straw hat
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] for me gives me ‘good girl’ vibes but I where I live [name_f]Molly[/name_f] Mormon is a common term
But beyond that I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is sweet and has a slightly late 90’s early 00’s feel to it. It makes me think of going mall shopping, bright colors, summer and carefree days
For some reason I’ve always had a bit of a negative image of it even though I like [name_u]Holly[/name_u] and [name_f]Polly[/name_f]. I imagine someone who’s kind of a spoiled goody-two-shoes. I’m not sure why since I’ve never known anyone named [name_f]Molly[/name_f] who was like that. It definitely has an old-fashioned feel to it as well. Definitely not a bad name, just not really my style.
It’s not my style originally but I know a little Mly and she’s so adorable that I can’t help but have a positive feeling towards the name.
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] is a friendly name. A nice sound and sunny quality. Warm and bright, though no specific imagery comes immediately to mind, seeing as it is such a historically popular pick.
Cute and vintage! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it as a nn for [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and also [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]. I also like the spelling [name_f]Mollie[/name_f], which I think takes away from the drug association.
molly is a very sweet name! it reminds me of flowering meadows, quaint picnics, and old libraries. i love the simple, cottagecore vibes that molly has. <3
Totally a timeless classic! I know a [name_f]Molly[/name_f] in her 60s, in her 30s, and a toddler [name_f]Molly[/name_f] too. It’s such a pretty, understated name. When I hear it I imagine someone confident and ambitious, but also friendly and approachable
