I love the name [name_m]Sol[/name_m] for a girl — so simple, sweet and sunny!
But what on [name_f]Earth[/name_f] goes with it as a middle?!
Ideally I’d like something clearly feminine, not too “different” but still interesting, and probably 3+ syllables. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] or [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] would fit the bill perfectly, but sadly I have already used those (or very nearly!)
[name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] seems to be closest to what you are looking for, although still not quite right. What about [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]? For some reason that seems to sit in the right place. I do agree that [name_m]Sol[/name_m] should be paired with a traditional and recognizable feminine name, so if not C/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f], what about [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], or [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Angelina[/name_f]? Also, I know it feels like a filler middle name, but [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] really does have a lovely sound.
I like [name_m]Sol[/name_m] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] best. [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] really complements [name_m]Sol[/name_m], so no, I don’t think too much. I also like [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] with [name_m]Sol[/name_m].
[name_m]Just[/name_m] to add, I like pps suggestions of [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] with [name_m]Sol[/name_m]. I like [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] but agree too sibilant and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] I like also but has too many 'l’s with [name_m]Sol[/name_m]? I want to like [name_f]Tigerlily[/name_f] with [name_m]Sol[/name_m] - the sounds are good and the name is great, but not sure if its too much.
I’m not mad keen on any of the longer names for [name_m]Sol[/name_m], but thanks for your suggestions @care! Short and sweet is more my thing, for first names anyway. [name_m]Sol[/name_m] is used as a standalone girls name in some Spanish-speaking and Nordic countries.
Thanks for so many great suggestions! These are the ones which are jumping out to me:
I’m glad some of you are liking [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], though. I nabbed it from my [name_f]Nell[/name_f] combo as the sounds are similar, but I was worried it was way too much. Pleased that not everyone thinks so.
