This is a follow-up to a post made by @Mayblossom, and a continuation of a few polls I’ve made in the past as well. This is for a book character. I was looking for a name Fia can be short for (that starts with an F), and I have found a plethora of names! Please tell me which of the names (and the spelling) you prefer Fia to be short for.
I think my favorite long form of [name_f]Fia[/name_f] is Fiala!!
From your choices, I like [name_f]Finetta[/name_f], [name_f]Finella[/name_f], [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f], and [name_f]Fiammetta[/name_f] best!! I also like [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Fia[/name_f]
@winterlyricalfox Fiala is cool! It must not be on the site or forums very often because I was looking at lists on name websites and it never popped up!
I’ve only ever come across it as a short form for [name_f]Sofia[/name_f].
Without knowing more detail about your story or the character, it’s hard to comment but [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] or [name_f]Fianna[/name_f] stand out to me. I wouldn’t use an [name_u]Irish[/name_u] spelling unless your story was set there.
@SoJoCo the character is [name_u]Irish[/name_u]! It is set in [name_u]America[/name_u] but she is 19 and [name_u]Irish[/name_u], I should have said that!
