I prefer the [name]Faye[/name] spelling in general but I do make an exception. If the first name has no “y” in it, I would go with [name]Faye[/name]. However, I would use the [name]Fae[/name] spelling if the first name does contain a “y”. I don’t like combos really heavy on the y’s.
[name]Love[/name] the name! I picture a pretty but no-nonsense girl. A flapper girl image comes to mind.
[name]Fey[/name] (with an accent over the ‘e’…I just don’t know how to write it in!) is a very common name in my extended family. It makes me think of a strong and confident woman.
For me [name]Faye[/name] is best, [name]Fay[/name] is OK, but [name]Fae[/name] is totally different. It has a mystical hippie name vibe cause it means fairy. Very different than fun, spirited, spunky [name]Faye[/name]/[name]Fay[/name].
I like [name]Faye[/name] the best. I also have a weird attraction to [name]Fey[/name], probably because that was the spelling used in Ugly [name]Betty[/name] ([name]Fey[/name] [name]Sommers[/name]). I’m not a fan of the name, honestly–I do like it, but not really as a FN. As a MN it seems refreshing to me, but as a FN, I would expect an annoying, almost crass middle-aged librarian with auburn hair who has a nasally, annoying voice and always chomps really loud on her gum. I’m not sure why. It’s a stunning name and obviously people love it but I’m just not a fan of it as a FN. As a mn, though, it has a sweet, elfish, fairy-like quality to me. I especially like [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Faye[/name] as a combo, and, in that case, I would probably expect a sweet, happy, slender, pretty blond little girl.
[name]Faye[/name] is so pretty and very fairy-like. [name]Fay[/name] seems a bit incomplete to me, and [name]Fae[/name] a little too Olde-English!
[name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Faye[/name] was one of my favourites for a while.
