I’ve recently come across the name [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and I can’t get it out of my head. Only problem is, I don’t know how it’s pronounced. When I first saw it, I read it as ee-lee-ann-a. Does anybody know anyone with this name? [name_m]How[/name_m] do they say it?

I’ve known a few girls with this name and they pronounce it like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-ahna.
I say ell-ee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nah or eh-LYAH-nuh, because for -ana I say AHN-uh; [name_f]Elianna[/name_f] I would say as ell-ee-[name_f]ANN[/name_f]-uh. I do think Americans tend to say -ana as [name_f]ANN[/name_f]-uh and a lot of countries say -anna as AHN-uh, so yeah, I guess it depends on where you are. [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] being Italian, I do imagine it would be AHN-uh, but [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]'s Hebrew too and I’m not too sure on how it may be pronounced in that context.

I never imagined it was said any other way than eh-lee-[name_m]AH[/name_m]-nah. Nice name. I also like [name_u]Elia[/name_u] ([name_f]EL[/name_f]-ee-uh).
My daughter is name [name_f]Elianna[/name_f]. We are Jewish in Hebrew it is still pronounced [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-ah-na, [name_m]Eli[/name_m] meaning my G-d and [name_f]Ana[/name_f] answers me. My husband is also part Portuguese
and [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] is a Portuguese, Italian and Latin name. [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Elianna[/name_f] are pronounce the same ,though in [name_u]America[/name_u] I have seen some say the name as [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. I think because of unfamiliarity [name_u]Elia[/name_u] is a beautiful nickname for [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]. In Latin meaning is daughter of the sun, also nice
