What is the traditional spelling of Hallie/Halle?

Does anyone know the traditional spelling of the name Halle / Hallie? We just had our baby and I am having the hardest time finalizing the spelling! Her middle name is Elizabeth and her sisters name is Willa. What spelling do you think we should go with? Pronounced “Hal-lee”.

Halle Elizabeth
or
Hallie Elizabeth?

i think hallie is more intuitive and feels more classic and genuine to me ! etymologically hallie and halle are actually unrelated, but hallie has longer and a more traditional history as a girls name. that’s what i would go for ! hallie elizabeth is lovely :two_hearts:

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] feels much easier to me! Easier to spellC pronounce, etc. Also nicer to look at. :relaxed: Not sure which is the original, the people I know with the this name use [name_f]Hallie[/name_f], not [name_u]Halle[/name_u].

I feel like [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is the more traditional spelling. I also love that name and spelling . Congrats!!

I think of [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] as more traditional and also more feminine! Also clearer in the pronunciation – [name_u]Halle[/name_u] could also be “hal”

From what I can find, [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is a diminutive of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], [name_m]Harald[/name_m] is a Swedish diminutive of [name_u]Halle[/name_u], originally used on boys but is now unisex. If anyone knows more, feel free to correct!

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] is my personal favourite

I would go with [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]!

Personally I would go with [name_f]Hallie[/name_f]! :white_heart:

[name_f]Hallie[/name_f] feels more traditional. No idea if it is.
