I have no idea what to call this style, but I find names like Holling, Norcross, and [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] oddly charming. Something like old 1920s surnames as first names, perhaps. Is there a name to this undefined theme/other names that fit the bill?
I’m not sure what to call it, honestly, but I have known people names Hastings and [name_m]Blanchard[/name_m] and you might like those?
Yea sorry I have no idea maybe you like more surnamey names? They sound more like surnames that typical first names
i did a brief google search, and Holling and Norcross are both anglo-saxon last names originating in [name_f]England[/name_f]. [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] is also an anglo-saxon last name, but is believed to be of Germanic origins (relating the the [name_m]German[/name_m] ‘ernst’ or ‘ernus’). it definitely sounds you’re into an Old [name_f]English[/name_f] surnames as first names style.
[name_m]Earnest[/name_m] is also an adjective, so perhaps you’d like word names? Holling and Norcross have that word-name feel, too.
They do have a traditional, [name_f]English[/name_f] surname feel to them. [name_m]Bramwell[/name_m], Havenlock, and [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] have a similar vibe to me. Maybe you’d also like occupational surnames, like [name_m]Falconer[/name_m] and [name_u]Hayward[/name_u]?
