What name would you give to the brother of Caleb, Noah and Thomas?

We are struggling to name our fourth child due at the beginning of [name_f]October[/name_f]. We didn’t expect to get pregnant this soon after we had [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] as we had tried for five years to have him, he will be almost a year when this baby is born so our house will be a bit crazy for a while! We don’t know the gender and won’t find out till the baby is born so I am also going post this in the girls’ name section if you want to contribute in that too.

So my question is if you had three boys called [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Noah[/name_u] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Connor[/name_m] would would you name the next boy?

Thanks in advance.

My top pick would be [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] for a first name!

I agree that [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] would be a good addition to your classic names, also here are some suggestions:

[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]
[name_m]Adam[/name_m]

For a sister…
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leah[/name_f]
[name_f]Rachel[/name_f]

I would definitely go with another Biblical name. I like:

[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]John[/name_m]

[name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m]
[name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Louis[/name_m]

[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and…

[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m]

I love the suggestion of [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]! That’s one we haven’t considered. I can’t wait till my husband comes home from work so I can suggest it to him.

I agree that [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] would be an awesome choice!

Another biblical name would be good, to fit your theme:
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Josiah[/name_m] (could be called “[name_u]Joey[/name_u]”)
[name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]

Your boys have lovely names!

I think [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] would be nice with [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] but I think the M of [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] and the M of [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] stand out when you say them out loud together.

[name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
Arthur

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] you find the right name!

[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Ethan[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Joshua[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Eli[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Adam[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Mark[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]

[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Richard[/name_m]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]

I like [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]!

Wow – those are great names! [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] are my favorites with your sons’ names. I also like [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]. I think it’s overlooked so frequently because people see it as too common, but it’s just not. It is such a beautiful classic.

I like [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Issac[/name_m] and [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Issac[/name_m] with your three gents names.

[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u] were on our list too.
To go with those, I like…

[name_u]Seth[/name_u]
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Lucas[/name_m]
[name_m]Nate[/name_m]

Good luck

[name_m]Just[/name_m] taking a wild guess that this is a Biblical theme for names :stuck_out_tongue:

For boys I’ll suggest either [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m], [name_m]Aaron[/name_m], or [name_u]Micah[/name_u], with my favourite being [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]! If [name_u]Micah[/name_u] is too “out-there” [name_m]Michael[/name_m] would be adorable too. All are perfect, actually. I’m not sure if you give any of your sons nicknames (all the names except maybe [name_u]Noah[/name_u] have a couple) so I tried to pick Biblical options that were less-obvious and had cute nicknames. I work at a church so I tried to not include the names I hear all the time (like [name_m]Matthew[/name_m], [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], etc.) but it seems like you like the classics so I didn’t include the out-there Biblical names (like [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m], or [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m]). If you do want a less-used or more of a stand-out Biblical name I love [name_m]Asher[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Ash[/name_u]), [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Zeke[/name_m]), [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], and [name_u]Seth[/name_u]!

For girls the Biblical theme is a little trickier to get away with because most Biblical names are really well-used and well-known. My favourite Biblical name that is not well-known or used at all (I have never met a person with this name, adult or child) is [name_f]Junia[/name_f], one of the first female apostles. The nickname [name_u]June[/name_u] is adorable! If that’s not your style there’s the classics [name_f]Mary[/name_f]/[name_f]Maria[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f]/[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]/[name_f]Susannah[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]/[name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] (the [name_f]Sara[/name_f]-version always feels incomplete to me), [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Martha[/name_f], and [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. Another rarity is [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], which I also love. Other names are [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]/[name_f]Evelina[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] (or any other ending), [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. Whenever I hear these names they sound like they would “fit” in the Bible, especially [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]. If you can, steer away from [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and the [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] variations. There are a half-dozen or more girls with each name under the age of 6 at my church. My picks would be [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. Another name you could use is [name_f]Iris[/name_f], maybe as a middle since it might be too bold for a first with your boys’ names. It means rainbow and would be a cute way to relate her to your son [name_u]Noah[/name_u] (at the end of the [name_u]Noah[/name_u] story God revealed a rainbow as a symbol of promise to [name_u]Noah[/name_u]). Please, don’t name her [name_f]Jezebel[/name_f] haha!

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] Or [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]

In keeping with your trend of two syllable first names starting with a consonant, here are some suggestions:

  • [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Gavin[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Robert[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Richard[/name_m]

If you wanted to break that pattern, how about

  • [name_m]Gregory[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Mark[/name_m]
  • [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]

[name_m]Judah[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Timothy[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m]
[name_m]David[/name_m]
[name_m]Jacob[/name_m]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]

On a side note, my brother-in-law’s name is [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], his siblings are [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] (my husband) and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
