What names do you think give off color vibes?

for instance which names give off “ pink “ vibes to you, which names just seem “ blue “ or “ green “- if that makes sense?

All V names are purple (aside from a few), because my sister’s name is [name_f]Violet[/name_f], a purple V name. :woman_shrugging:t2:

celeste, arabella, juno, calliope all give off navy blue vibes.
i don’t get the color vibe a lot, so that’s all i have

Sometimes it depends on the combo, like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Amber[/name_f] is red velvet and white pearls, but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is lavender and mint green!

Some definite ones based on just the name are ~

[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] — pale pink, white
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] — fiery colors: dark reds, oranges, yellows
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] — purple

I really don’t get color vibes from most, unless there’s a color in the name, like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] or [name_f]Azura[/name_f]!

I find it quite hard to divide them up like this because I connect colours with letters rather than words, so it depends what letters make up a word. The first letter is usually most influential.

Eg. Amelia
a = buttercup yellow
m = spring green
e = baby pink
l = pale yellow
i = white
a = buttercup again

So it ends up being mostly yellow, but with subtleties! The yellow and pink combo reads as princessy and slightly sickly :crown::heartpulse:

Isobel
i = white
s = varies as it’s my own initial, but usually purple of some kind
o = dark blue
b = varies a bit but in this case dark brown
e = baby pink
l = pale yellow, but in this case very pale because it echoes the white i at the start

So white, brown and blue are dominant and the ‘o’ feels moon-like combined with the white so Isobel gives me vibes of moonlit trees :full_moon_with_face::fallen_leaf:

For me as well, it’s mostly combos that give off color vibes. Like my top girl combo currently, Leonora Elizabeth June, gives me yellow-y orange vibes. Like the color of the setting sun . Flora Jane gives me light pink vibes, Phillip Wycliffe gives me grey/silver vibes, and Gilbert Lennox gives me green vibes.

More than colors, for my favorite combos, I usually get like, aesthetic scenes, if that makes sense. Like, Heidi Beatrice Rosemary is a little girl with dark curly hair with red rain boots running around in the rain, splashing in the mud, Georgiana Wildrose is someone gardening next to a cottage overlooking the sea, Abilene Faith is a teenager in patched overalls walking on railroad tracks for a dare, and Phillip Wycliffe is a dude riding on his horse across white cliffs. (Probably because the meanings of Phillip and Wycliffe put together is "lover of horses dwelling on the white cliffs, lol)

Love this combo. Stunning!

I only usually get this if it’s the name of a character (or sometimes a person I know) and I associate a colour with them?

So…

[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] - red
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - grey and pink
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] - pale to bright green
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] - yellow
[name_f]Leandra[/name_f] - purple
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - orangey-red
[name_f]Tamar[/name_f] - pink
[name_u]Aiden[/name_u] - orange
[name_u]Cassidy[/name_u] - red
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] - blue
[name_m]Lio[/name_m] - turquoise
[name_u]Kitty[/name_u] - burgandy
[name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] - light green and pale purple
[name_f]Aleah[/name_f] - pink

[name_f]Shreya[/name_f] - reddish-pink

For me, pink names are very frilly names, things like
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_u]Arielle[/name_u]
[name_f]Luciana[/name_f]
[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]
All other names that end in -ana

Purple names are names that I see as deep or have mythological or historical meanings, and also P names (and also some really random princess names) so things like
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
[name_f]Pandora[/name_f]
[name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Moana[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]

[name_u]Red[/name_u] Names are powerful names, and ones with strong constatants and really modern ones so
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]
All the Mc- names
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Erica[/name_f]
[name_u]Ricky[/name_u]
[name_f]Barbara[/name_f]
[name_u]Jade[/name_u]

Greens are names that are soft but also strong,
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Effie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_u]Clare[/name_u]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f]

[name_u]Blue[/name_u] names are classics,
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]

And that’s all I can think of at 10 o’clock at night!

Same!

A - yellowy orange
B - bluish grey
C - yellow
D - brown
E - yellow
F - green
G - bluish grey
H - yellow
I - very pale orange
J - raspberry jam
K - reddish brown
L - blue or brown
M - mauve
N - purpley brown
O - dark blue
P - pink & yellow
Q - turquoise
R - magenta
S - pale teal or sea foam green
T - I honestly have no idea
U - whitish yellow
V - purple
W - light green
X - dark purple/black

Generally for me names are mostly just the color of the first letter, with a bit of the colors of other strong sounds! So my friend’s name is Jamie and that’s mostly raspberry jam colored, with a bit of purple.

This is so interesting how one person’s idea of a name can differ so greatly from the next person’s, I’m loving this thread!!

I love this, so interesting! And these two are such gorgeous colour associations!

my version

a - fairly bright, happy yellow
b - variable! Usually brown, bright red, or mid blue (eg Barnaby is a very brown and blue name to me but the B in Bella is fire engine red)
c - orangey-red
d - dark blue
e - pale pink
f - soft yellow
g - gorgeous rich chocolate brown
h - a lighter brown, less of a strong association, sometimes claret red
i - white
j - brick red
k - darker red
l - yellow
m - mid green
n - dark green
o - dark blue, sometimes black
p - yellow again!! no idea why so many are yellow!
q - turquoise blue
r - dark green
s - dark blue, violet or lilac
t - pale greenish blue or light brown
u - white or pale blue
v - a soft lilac-grey
w - dark blue
x - black or golden or silver grey
y - …yellow!! Or white
z - I think it’s grey, like a dark & perhaps metallic tone

I also have associations for pairs of letters eg. th = a lovely soft fawn brown, ph = a light, elderflower green-yellow, ch = a soft pastel orange

Most names are orange to me! [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Hamza[/name_m], and [name_u]Everly[/name_u] are all a vivid burnt orange.

Some names are a yellow-orange (Heidi, Eloise) and some are a sunny yellow (Elizabeth, Lucy). Most names starting with L are yellow to me.

A lot of A names are red (Anna, [name_u]Adrian[/name_u], Ari). [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Maria[/name_u] also come to mind as particularly red names.

A lot of C and K names are green. From my own list, [name_u]Konstantin[/name_u] and [name_m]Akim[/name_m] are very green. [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] and [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] are a dark forest green, and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is lime.

Almost all S names are blue to me, plus [name_u]Daniel[/name_u].

A lot of pink names have thick, consonant-heavy sounds (Constance, [name_f]Candace[/name_f], [name_u]Claude[/name_u], Persephone) and most of them are feminine (so more of a cultural association than synesthesia).

Some purple names: [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], [name_f]Urszula[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite name, [name_f]Amparo[/name_f], is one of the few that has no color association for me at all.

I really feel these. This is a fun idea

All names have a color to me.

Some of them are obvious like Scarlett=red, Fern=green, Marina=Blue, Violetta=purple, etc. Others not so much. There are a few weird patterns I’ve noticed like most F names are green to me, V and I are often purple, a lot of Ms and French names are blue, etc.

I’ll just list the first 5 to come to mind for each color:
Pink: Juliet, Vanessa, Rosalie, Eloise, Serephina
Red: Roxanne, Henrietta, Elizabeth, Carmen, Simone
Orange: Marigold, Winifred, Angie, Cornelia, Hazel
Yellow: Ottilie, Lorelei, Saffron, Annie, Jillian
Green: Robin, Faye, Felicity, Frances, Lauren
Light Blue: Alice, Marianne, Marie, Claire, Madeline
Dark Blue: Dorothy, Caroline, Amelia, Ramona, Emily
Purple: Isadora, Ursula, Vivienne, Isabelle, Lilah

Editing to add that most names are more than one color for me, I just listed the most dominint one. For example: Hazel is not only pumpkin orange but also olive green and light golden brown or Juliet is not just bright pink but also fire truck red and neon orange.
Also I only listed girl names because I think more about girl names so I have stronger opinions there, but a couple boy names are Frederick= green, Wilbur=brown, Jack=red, Peter=yellow, Gabriel=also green but a light greyish/sage green instead of dark forest green like Frederick is.
I love the idea of associating induvidual letters with colors and then building an color palate for the name based off of that. I don’t quite do that myself but it makes so much sense to me.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!
pink- esme, gwen, genevieve, vivienne, victoria, rose,
purple- violet, ivory ( or white) lilian, juliet, inez, juniper
blue- alice, alicia, jane, raine, celeste,
green- jade, hazel, felicity, laura, alyssa, charlie
yellow- lily, daisy, penelope, betty, sabrina
red- matilda, miley, serena, charlotte, ruby

It mostly depends on the sound, with a few exceptions.
“the” and “ice” endings are blue, with the exceptions of [name_f]Evanthe[/name_f] becoming pink, and [name_f]Unice[/name_f] having 2 colours, [name_f]Pink[/name_f] or green for the sound, and pink or red for the spelling, depending on the handwriting or font.

[name_f]Astoria[/name_f] is blue and brown.
[name_u]Louise[/name_u] is green.
[name_f]Annora[/name_f] is a deep purple.
[name_f]Azenor[/name_f] is grey.
[name_f]Edelweiss[/name_f] is any pastel shade.
[name_f]Aurembiaix[/name_f] is pink.

Colour and nature names have their respective colour, except from [name_u]Grey[/name_u], whose colour vibe is blue, for some reason.

(sorry for any typos)
