I noticed some made up names are being suggested. If we’re including made up names, I’ve met Bernardina, Kailua, Reshelle, Blaikelyn, Emilea, Ahrielle, Tayonna, Loeta, Annalyce, Tausha, Naiya, Emryn, Zhiare, Brynlynn, Arrieon, Allianna, Reshina, Lexiah, Rakiyah - these may not all be made up but they’re not in the database and I don’t know their origins

I was chatting with @KaiLun on another thread and, when going through the possibilities of made-up names, almost all had some documentation of use. Most of the individuals who have held these names were born 100+ years ago, with a couple of exceptions.

Also, Elsmire and Elzirah.

Could we add Shola?
Bounty.com has it listed as an African name meaning ‘one who is blessed’. I first heard it from singer Shola [name_f]Ama[/name_f].

We don’t tend to add made up names unless there’s a significant figure (real or fictional) who bears the name and/or there’s a reasonable amount of usage.

For example, if an invented name happens to blip onto the charts with 6 births in one year and then disappears again, we wouldn’t generally add it, but a made-up name like [name_f]Evolet[/name_f], [name_f]Khaleesi[/name_f] or [name_f]Vanellope[/name_f] that is popularised by pop culture and sees significant real-life usage would be added.

[name_f]Every[/name_f] other website I’ve found lists [name_f]Evangel[/name_f] as a masculine alternative to [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. [name_m]Can[/name_m] you list it as a boy name on here as well?

The name Calogera comes up several times way back on my family tree on my Italian side, but I don’t think it’s on Nameberry. I believe these women went by [name]Lillian[/name] as an anglicized nickname.

Just noting that on the “names that end in i” list, my favorite is missing: [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]

Love you guys!

Sid is listed as a boy’s name. I’m born and chosen female and I go by [name_m]Sid[/name_m]. I don’t think there’s anything specifically masculine about it. Please make it green!
