The page for [name_f]Amane[/name_f] says it has Arabic origin, but it is also a very popular girl’s name in Japan (note: most of the people I know named [name_f]Amane[/name_f] are around 20-26 so it may not be as popular anymore)! Common meanings include heaven, bright, and restful.

I think Feyre (fay-ruh) deserves a page! Especially with how popular [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] J [name_m]Maas[/name_m]’ works are. I notice there is a [name_f]Fayre[/name_f] but I think the e-version will probably, if it isn’t already, become the most familiar/popular version. I also remember a few months back there was a berry with a daughter named Feyre [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]. So it’s being used by people!

I think Locket is ready as a bold, cosy word name.

Another name from [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] J Mass books-
Celaena.
I’m not sure of the origin, but my mom knew a real Celaena before those books even came out.

Ziazan, an Armenian girl’s name meaning rainbow. It seems like it used to have a page here on NB?

It’s still showing for me?

Can we pretty please have Kairos? It’s one of my eternal loves for boys, and I’m always sad to see it doesn’t have a page here.

Greek, KYE-ross - means opportune or perfect moment, usually to achieve something important

It’s showing up for me now.

I have a list dedicated to names I like that aren’t on nameberry!! Of course, many of the names in that list are quite old and probably not in common use, but I’ve noticed there are some Irish names not on the site.

Off my head, I know that Aogán and Aodhán (where [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] comes from) aren’t on nameberry.

I would love to see some info added to the [name_m]Miro[/name_m] name page! It’s the name of a tree in [name_u]New[/name_u] Zealand and a reasonably popular Māori baby name. I know a handful of Miros in NZ and none of them are named for its slavic origins.

Shirley should have a boy page! It was primarily male until the mid-1800s.

Yes! And there’s a pop culture reference too: [name_f]Shirley[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]

Marama

Meaning: ‘[name_u]Light[/name_u] of the World’
Origin: Maori

Quick background, quoted directly from https://appellationmountain.net/marama-baby-name-day/

“Marama is the Maori word for ‘moon’, which is why she belongs in the company of [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Chandra[/name_f], [name_f]Selene[/name_f], and other celestial names”

"So how did Marama travel from the night sky to the birth certificate?

Marama wasn’t just the moon. It was the name of a masculine god, married to the goddess of light. It must have been an interesting marriage – she would be awake while he slept and vice versa, right?"

“[name_m]Prince[/name_m] Marama, a member of the royal family of Huahine in the nineteenth century, wore the name. And it has occasionally been given to men over the years. But Marama seems to be a feminine given name in the twentieth century and beyond.”

Notable Wearers:

Marama [name_m]Davidson[/name_m] - Leader of the Greens Party of Aotearoa [name_u]New[/name_u] Zealand
Marama [name_m]Martin[/name_m] - [name_u]New[/name_u] Zealand television and radio broadcaster
*Marama Corlett - [name_u]New[/name_u] Zealand Actress, starring in Blood Drive, Guardians of the [name_u]Galaxy[/name_u], etc.
*Marama [name_m]Thurston[/name_m] - Character in ‘The Adorable Savage’
