What names have we missed?

Mahree (f)

see as one of the two leading names in the Disney movie The Color of Friendship

The name [name_f]Aanya[/name_f] is listed but without any description/origin (as far as I can see!) [name_f]Aanya[/name_f] is a Sanskrit name and I believe it means “inexhaustible”. It is also sometimes spelled as [name_f]Anya[/name_f], so adding the Sanskrit meaning to the current description on Nameberry would be nice!

Wow, I’m surprised this one isn’t on the database yet!

I’m wondering if admins are unable to update the database at the moment. I remember a few weeks ago there were website issues and admins didn’t actually have access to update, or something along those lines. Is this the case, @katinka?

Powerful was added the other day, so I guess not

Maybe only the owner can add names ATM - I’m still waiting on my dear Marama, checking everyday.

We’ve regained database access but we add names as and when we can, and it’s been a busy time with the site update and [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] etc. etc.

Teske is a [name_m]Dutch[/name_m]/Frissian girl name meaning Protector of the people. It is deprived from Diede, another [name_m]Dutch[/name_m]/Frissian name which has many names deprived from is.

Makes sense! Thank you  hope you had a great [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]!

Not a name you missed, but I’d like to add that [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is also the Greek word for ‘‘fate/destiny’’, maybe you could add that to the meanings since it’s quite a nice one!

I think I had waited almost 3 months before I saw my name suggestions get added over the summer so it probably just takes awhile

Ardy (Latin) great forest

Though I’ve primarily found it listed for males, I’ve also seen it listed for females as a nickname/diminutive.

Lunaria :heartpulse:

A beautiful flower, and it combines two of the most popular girls’ names right now - [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f]. I was surprised not to find this on Nb!

Gosh, that’s lovely!

Yay, another Lunaria fan! Other flower names I like are Linaria (Snapdragon), Lonicera (Honeysuckle), Lazdona (I don’t remember if this is here by mistake or not but she’s the Lithuanian goddess of nuts and trees), Saponaria, Scaevola (Fairy Fan flower), Sororia (violet flower), and Poinsettia :revolving_hearts:

Rosantha also springs to mind – it’s a type of heather!
