A lot of the names I’d love to hear…I’ve never heard. LoL
But, I do love these names, which belong to some children in our neighborhood:
[name_f]Coco[/name_f] and [name_f]Cece[/name_f] ([name_f]Coraline[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]) are sisters
[name_m]Nevin[/name_m]
[name_f]Brigitta[/name_f]
[name_m]Manu[/name_m]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] for me. It’s probably the only name I’m 110% on and I enjoy saying it. I’m also pretty thrilled whenever I see or hear [name_f]Callista[/name_f] / [name_f]Calista[/name_f] just because she’s so underused and has a great meaning. For boys, it would be [name_m]Marius[/name_m]. The rest of my boys are bit more common but I’d be surprised and delighted to hear [name_m]Marius[/name_m] (in the US) on a child.
I heard the name [name_m]Albert[/name_m] used the other day and I wanted to cry with happiness as he was so cute and the name is my favourite boys name ever. I would love to hear the names [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] more often as I also love those.
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] - heard a mum call her little boy that a while ago and it immediately took the #1 spot on my [name_m]German[/name_m] boys’ list (it was among the top 3 even before that but I never quite knew which was my absolute favourite until then)
I really like Firenze. The city of Firenze is beautiful, said and spelt [name_f]Florence[/name_f] in English, Firenze can be said [name_f]Florence[/name_f] too so I find it a lovely spelling of [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
[name_u]Bright[/name_u], springy names make me happy like [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_u]Laney[/name_u], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] Also, [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. Maybe because it means ‘happy’, idk. But those names and others like them always make me smile.
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] definitely does. Popularity is a bit of an issue, but he always makes me smile. My boys in general, really. They don’t change much but I love them all a lot. [name_m]Ptolemy[/name_m], [name_m]Horatio[/name_m], and [name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] in particular. [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] one of my oldest and still favourite name, still makes me smile when I think about her.
I’ve always smiled at [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], [name_u]Landry[/name_u]/Landrie, [name_f]Destiny[/name_f] and [name_u]Paisley[/name_u]. I can’t quite explain why, but they’ve always made me happy when I hear them!
The names that always make me happy are my daughters’ names: [name_f]Ivalo[/name_f] and Hesper, it was like that way before they were born and is even more today. [name_f]Araluen[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] are also names that always make me smile and think happy thoughts.
I once met a little boy named [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], [name_u]Gus[/name_u] for short and it was the PERFECT name for him. It was so cute and matched his personality really well. I’ve also met a little [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] which was great!
Erm, I get irrationally happy when I hear some of my favorites used in real life–like [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], [name_f]Eleni[/name_f], [name_f]Arianne[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], etc., for girls, and [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Boaz[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], etc. for boys, but I agree with the posters who say [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]–they’re such happy names!
I like hearing pretty, slightly old-fashioned underused names because it just makes a child so unique and instead of being the tenth [name_m]Harry[/name_m] in a class they could be something special. I also like the name [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], it’s really cute and I love saying it.
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] for a boy - it makes my heart skip a beat, not so much when I hear it as when I think of it. It’s like rereading [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women and feeling like you know all the characters so well and getting all warm and fuzzy inside at the best bits [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], [name_m]Olivier[/name_m], [name_u]Robin[/name_u], and [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], too.
For girls - [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] makes me feel happy - like smelling a fragrant herb and just breathing it in. [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] makes me feel joyful in a strong, vibrant sort of way. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] because she’s just pure
loveliness. [name_f]Judith[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_f]Polly[/name_f], [name_f]Lotte[/name_f], Ness, [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f] . . . [name_f]Arianell[/name_f] . . . I agree with [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], actually.
@izzie, I really appreciate that you noticed the negativity and created a positive thread as a response to that. I didn’t like it either.
