One of my favourite boy names is [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. However, it seems that I cannot look past its lack of nicknames. I know many of you would argue that [name_m]Felix[/name_m] does not need a nickname, but it is just a personal preference for me. Typically, I like nicknames that are easily picked out of the name itself (like [name_m]Ben[/name_m] for [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], or [name_m]Wes[/name_m] for [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]). I’ve seen many people suggest “[name_u]Fee[/name_u]” for [name_m]Felix[/name_m], but it just doesn’t sound very manly! My favourite boy name is [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], which I would like to shorten to “[name_m]Jack[/name_m]”. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is a manly nickname in my opinion.
If you cannot persuade me to love [name_m]Felix[/name_m] once again, are there any names in this style category that you could suggest to me?
What about [name_m]Eli[/name_m] as a nn for [name_m]Felix[/name_m]? I know it isn’t formed from the first letter, but the letters are all right there and it’s a very manly name. You could also try [name_u]Lee[/name_u] but that’s a bit more of a stretch.
Creative/not obvious nicknames are my favorite. That being said, what about “Fix”? It’s not a real name BUT it is very obvious for [name_m]Felix[/name_m] (similar to [name_u]Flip[/name_u] for [name_m]Philip[/name_m] or [name_m]Fritz[/name_m] for [name_m]Fred[/name_m]) and gives it character. The x makes it manly, in my opinion
We were planning to use [name_m]Felix[/name_m] nickname [name_m]Fox[/name_m] but are starting to have 2nd thoughts about using the name. It’s a fantastic name though!
You could also try Feli ([name_u]Fee[/name_u]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u]) a la Fíli from The Hobbit Sort of sounds like [name_u]Philly[/name_u] for [name_u]Philadelphia[/name_u] so it would be an easy thing to pick up on.
I work with a [name_m]Felix[/name_m] and he’s called [name_f]Cat[/name_f] by most people, thanks to [name_m]Felix[/name_m] the [name_f]Cat[/name_f]. I don’t see it as a name that needs a nickname personally. Taking a look at [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] which is similar but obviously doesn’t share the same origin, I’d go with [name_f]Flick[/name_f] or Iz.
I actually kind of like the name [name_m]Miles[/name_m]! I love to drive, quad, and snowmobile. Maybe this would be a nice way to tie that together? Would you consider this name to be usable? Or is it too associated to the measurement?
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] is such a handsome, strong name… I believe just that is good enough and doesn’t need to be shortened. BUT, I understand; I’m such a nickname guru myself. I think ‘[name_u]Fee[/name_u]’ for when he is little is very cute, but just [name_m]Felix[/name_m] when he is older. Other nicknames that could work: [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_m]Fox[/name_m], Flix, Flex, Flixter. I like Flix the best.
