So in my personal opinion, [name_f]Betty[/name_f] is pretty stuck in the 1950s. It gives dated vibes for me.
As for what it could be short for: [name_f]Bettina[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Bethany[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and I think even [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is accepted.
