I was reading a thread about names on a different website and realized a lot of moms have had some really strange reactions to their babies’ monikers, even if they aren’t unusual names.
For example, several people who have babies named [name]Sydney[/name] said they are often mistaken for “[name]Cindy[/name],” while a mom of a [name]Reese[/name] was asked “Like grease?” and a mom of a [name]Chase[/name] was asked if she named him after the bank (!).
I personally was taken aback by how many people though our son [name]Rowan[/name] was named [name]Rolland[/name] when he was born!
[name]How[/name] about you? What unexpected comments have you heard about your LOs name?
I’m [name]Savannah[/name] and I’ve gotten ‘[name]Samantha[/name]?’ more times then I can count! also people have pronounced it ‘Suh-VAaaH-nuh’ which drives me crazy.
Ha! That makes me think of a friend I had growing up – her sister was supposed to be named [name]Lillian[/name], but was named [name]Jillian[/name] instead because people misread her dad’s handwriting at the hospital!
What always confused me is the fact that they didn’t correct it! (?!)

Random/maybe not-so-random sidenote: the same thing happened to [name]Oprah[/name] Winfrey apparently, she was supposed to be name [name]Orpah[/name]
