What would Barney and Ben, Janice and Jen be called today?

All credit to @seawillow who wrote in the Memes Thread:

referring, of course, to the lines from It’s Beginning to Look a [name_f]Lot[/name_f] Like [name_m]Christmas[/name_m]:

A pair of Hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of [name_m]Barney[/name_m] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m]
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope for [name_f]Janice[/name_f] and [name_f]Jen[/name_f]
And mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again

So, what would they be called? And how would you personally go about answering this question - do you keep the alliteration? Does it still need to be singable? [name_m]Or[/name_m] simply go off of vibe?

Fun fact, if you base it purely on ranking, the lines (using the 2023 SSA list and assuming [name_f]Jen[/name_f] is for Jennifer) would go:

A pair of Hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots
Is the wish of [name_m]Santino[/name_m] and [name_m]Blake[/name_m]
Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk
Is the hope for [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] and [name_f]Hadley[/name_f]
And mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again

Based on vibes:

[name_m]Reggie[/name_m] and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (slightly old fashioned nickname; popular short form that stands alone)
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Liv[/name_f] (variant of a classic; nickname for a popular name)

and copying @EdgeOfTheMeadow, if I were to make it rhyme/alliterate etc:

A pair of [name_m]Jordan[/name_m] [name_f]Air[/name_f] Ones and some slime they’ll use once
is the wish of [name_m]Kyson[/name_m] and [name_m]Krew[/name_m].
A set of skin care and a Jellycat pear
are the hopes for [name_f]Tatum[/name_f] and [name_m]Tru[/name_m].

[name_f]My[/name_f] instinct is to keep the syllable count, rhyme, and alliteration if possible! But I care less about keeping it boys names and then girls names. I also like @EdgeOfTheMeadow 's idea of modernizing their wishes, though I feel like I don’t even know what kids want these days!

I’d say:
A new [name_m]Stanley[/name_m] cup and a cat and a pup
Is the wish of [name_m]Colton[/name_m] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
Drones that will fly and will go way up high
Is the hope for [name_m]Bentley[/name_m] and [name_f]Blair[/name_f]
And mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again

I’d say:

Some new games for their phone and a high flying drone
Is the wish of [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and [name_m]Bear[/name_m]
A pair of new Converse shoes and some skincare to use
Is the hope of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
And mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again

To keep the alliteration, syllables, & rhyme (with “again”):
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m]
[name_f]Gracie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f]

I would say [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_m]Ben[/name_m], [name_f]Gracie[/name_f], & [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] were probably born 2010-2018ish
