This question has probably been asked here a million times before, but if you were / transitioned to another gender than the one you currently identify as, what would you name yourself (and why)?
If I were a boy, I would pick [name_m]Valentin[/name_m] because it could maybe fit me and I like the name and the vibes I get from it.

If I were non-binary, I think I’d pick [name_m]Loren[/name_m], because I think I could fit the name well and I could keep my nicknames starting with [name_f]Lo[/name_f]. [name_m]Rosen[/name_m] would be another option too because I simply love that name.
[name_f][/name_f]
(Loren and [name_m]Rosen[/name_m] could have been boy options as well but it’s more fun to list different options for each gender)
This one is really hard! I tend to like international names, but for myself I’d also want one that comes from my culture, and almost none of the boy names here work that well internationally I think maybe I’d be Daniil ‘Dani’ or Alexis or Symeon ‘Simi’ because they would work the best, while also having a friendly and lively sound that I like.
Unisex names don’t exist in Greek so if I was nonbinary I’d either have the same name I do now, or I’d choose the same names I mentioned for boy names, depending exactly on my nonbinary experience and how I wanted to present myself.
For a male name I’ve always said I’d pick [name_m]Matthias[/name_m] and I still stand by it. As a middle either Jürgen, which I don’t feel strongly about but suspect it would have been my middle name had I been amab, or [name_m]Arne[/name_m], which I used in play-pretend as a kid, making it in a way the first male name I ever gave myself.

For a nonbinary name… I guess that’s technically what I am since I don’t identify with any gender? [name_f]So[/name_f] apparently I am keeping my birth name. If I decidedly identified with a gender other than male or female, I might use Auck more irl. It’s my username on other sites that I got from mashing up my parents’ surnames. I doubt that I would legally change it though, it doesn’t really read as a given name and might cause more confusion than it’s worth.
Fascinating question. I would…not choose the male version of my feminised male first name [name_f][/name_f] when I think about what other feminine[name_f][/name_f] names would suit me I usually lean towards the dark academia side of things, so for a masc name, perhaps something like… [name_m]Sylvander[/name_m], [name_m]Oberon[/name_m], or maybe more classic like [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
[name_f][/name_f]
For a gender neutral name I’d want to be [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] (it probably leans more femme because of the ending but you could just as easily be [name_m]Sonny[/name_m] as Netty!)
i would have been thomas or maximilian ‘max’ had i been a boy, and i really like both of those choices. i feel like max would suit me well, so i’ll go with that today!
I think I’ve always thought if I were a boy I’d be [name_m]Charlie[/name_m] or [name_m]Levi[/name_m], two choices my parents seriously considered before learning I was a girl. [name_f][/name_f] I think both would suit me pretty well on a guy, and fit with my brother’s name as well, so probably one of those. [name_f][/name_f] If not, I could see me doing something like [name_f]Bailey[/name_f], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Adam[/name_m], or [name_m]Declan[/name_m].
