The obvious being [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Rosie[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Garnet[/name], [name]Crimson[/name], all the names that mean red or are associated with something red. I want to know which names instantly conjure up a redhead whenever you hear them. For example, whenever I hear [name]Lily[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Shiloh[/name], or [name]Jade[/name] I normally think of a beautiful redheaded (or blonde) woman.
In case you’re insanely curious like me and want to know why, it’s because I love to write stories and many of the stories I come up with feature at least one redheaded woman since I absolutely love redhair. Another reason is because I might (I hope) have a redheaded daughter in the future. I’m not kidding you when I say my mother’s side of the family’s a bunch of redheads - they’re like the Weasleys. According to my mom, almost all her relatives are redheaded. Her older identical twin sisters were born with naturally red red hair and her younger brother was born with orange red hair. However, my father doesn’t carry the redhead gene, and so neither me nor my brother were born with red hair (the redhead gene is a recessive gene, meaning it must be carried by both parents to physically appear on their child). Hopefully, though, the redhead gene was passed down to me and I could have beautiful redheaded babies in the future.
If I did have redheaded daughters, and their hair color was obvious from birth, I’d probably name them [name]Scarlett[/name] or [name]Briar[/name] [name]Rose[/name] (nn [name]Rosie[/name]) or [name]Lily[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] (nn [name]Lily[/name] or [name]Lilou[/name]) lol.
So! Your thoughts?
[name]Hi[/name]!
To me, [name]Scarlett[/name] has rich chocolate brown hair and mysterious deep brown eyes. She has fair skin and delicate features. But, I could also see [name]Scarlett[/name] on a blond ([name]Scarlett[/name] Johansson) or a girl with wispy light-brown hair, oh, and of course [name]Scarlett[/name] would make a dashing red-head! Great name.
[name]Briar[/name] [name]Rose[/name], to me, doesn’t have the best flow. Those back-to-back R’s catch me a bit! But, I love [name]Briar[/name] so much! [name]Briar[/name], in my opinion, has soft brown hair falling in little waves around her face. She’s got bright blue eyes and sun-kissed skin.
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is adorable! It always makes me think of [name]Johnny[/name] Depp, who’s got a [name]Lily[/name]-[name]Rose[/name], too. [name]Lily[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] could probably fit any child under the sun, but I personally see a dirty blond with tan skin.
You’ve got great names! If I were naming a red-head, though, I’d choose [name]Cassia[/name], hands down. [name]Cassia[/name] means “cinnamon,” so it’s got this warm, rich feeling to it, in my opinion, that matches that of a red-headed little girl! Plus, I love the sound of [name]Cassia[/name]!
[name]Lemon[/name]
[name]Anne[/name] spelt with an “e”? I know. Not very exciting, but does remind me of red hair.
[name]Lola[/name]? [name]Layla[/name]? [name]Eulalie[/name]? [name]Poppy[/name]? [name]Dixie[/name]? I think [name]Rowena[/name] means “redhead,” but I might be wrong, and it doesn’t seem your style. I’m always trying to sell people on [name]Diantha[/name], but no luck! It is statuesque and could be a redhead statuesque.
You could do [name]Titian[/name], which I’ve heard proposed as a name(but I’ve never heard used as a name).
I’m not sure if you are looking for luxurious names like [name]Gwendolen[/name] or graceful names like [name]Isla[/name].
There are a few names that fit red hair to me, mainly because of people I know or characters I’m familiar with.
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Pippa[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
My baby cousin has red hair, her name is [name]Christina[/name]. She looks like her father who has strawberry blonde hair.
For me it’s [name]Lilith[/name], [name]Freya[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Georgiana[/name] ([name]Red[/name] or blonde), [name]Joan[/name], [name]Eulalie[/name] ([name]Red[/name] or brunette).
Gosh, this is harder than I thought it would be!
I like earlier suggestions [name]Freya[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Cassia[/name], [name]Poppy[/name].
Also, from the top of my head:
[name]Virginie[/name]

[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Berry[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]

Id feel like a [name]Ginger[/name] or [name]Ginny[/name] scream redhead. Or [name]Linda[/name] and [name]Saskia[/name], two cousins who are beautiful red heads! (not sisters)
[name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] come to mind!

I thought of a storehouse of redheads! The artist Rossetti loved to paint redheads.
One of his famous models was [name]Alexa[/name] Wilding, which works, don’t you think. And she looked like an [name]Alexa[/name] Wilding.

The painting has a name that also really works – [name]Veronica[/name] Veronese.
Rossetti’s wife, [name]Lizzie[/name] Sidel, was also sometimes painted as a redhead.
Rossetti loved to paint beautiful women and often gave his paintings the names of beautiful (or tragic) women. It might be worth your while to get a book of his work from the library.
My favorite name for a beautiful redhead is [name]Meadow[/name]. It’s normally not my style, but my old friend named her daughter [name]Meadow[/name], and she is the most striking redhead, with big, gorgeous green eyes! It is amazing how fitting the name is on her!
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Briony[/name]
[name]Camden[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]

[name]Zia[/name]
[name]Bridgit[/name] is the fist one that comes to mind.
Also, [name]Paige[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name]
All the red heads I know have pretty unremarkable names ([name]Jennifer[/name], [name]Michelle[/name], [name]Tracy[/name], etc…) except one: [name]Winona[/name] (nn [name]Nona[/name]). That names sounds unique and spunky and full of hell fire if you get on her bad side… the typical red head!
