What would you name a sibling to Scarlett?

I really love the name [name]Scarlett[/name] (especially [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rose[/name]) but I am not sure what a good sibling name would be. Could you please suggest some names for me ([name]Scarlett[/name] is not approved by the husband, but I don’t think he is totally against it). We tend to like more old-fashioned name. Any help would be appreciated.

If you don’t think it’s too matchy-matchy, I think [name]Ruby[/name] would be pretty with [name]Scarlett[/name]. It means red, too. Also:
[name]Stella[/name] (too similar in sound?)
[name]Lena[/name]-could be short for [name]Helena[/name] or [name]Maddalena[/name] or [name]Melina[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] nn [name]Tillie[/name] or [name]Tilda[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name] nn [name]Lulu[/name]
[name]Avalon[/name] nn [name]Ava[/name] ([name]Ava[/name] is extremely popular)
[name]Esmerelda[/name] nn [name]Esme[/name]
[name]Colette[/name] nn [name]Coco[/name]
[name]Philippa[/name] nn [name]Pippa[/name]

My favorites with [name]Scarlett[/name] are [name]Flora[/name] and [name]Rufus[/name]. [name]Rufus[/name] means redhead. This is a long list of names because I love the name [name]Scarlett[/name]!

A sibling to [name]Scarlett[/name]? Oh, that’s fun. Here’s a bunch of girls that may appeal:
[name]Rose[/name] (a bit matchy)
[name]Violetta[/name] (this would be my pick, personally)
[name]Emerald[/name] (a bit machy again)
[name]Iolanthe[/name] (again, matchy, means purple)
[name]Araminta[/name] (another favorite of my own)
[name]Tallulah[/name] (would be fantastic as a sister to [name]Scarlett[/name])

Well, there you go, I hope it helps! I wouldn’t use [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rose[/name] as it’s far too color oriented for my liking, [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name] or [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] would be a bit less colory and still be [name]Rose[/name]-ish names, if you’re interested. Sorry, I’m rather off kilter on boys names right now. Stuck in way old, musty literary and [name]Operatic[/name] classics. So I’d be spectacularly awful suggesting boys.

[name]Love[/name] love [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Esme[/name]; what an adorable combo!! I also second [name]Lola[/name]'s comments about [name]Rose[/name] as a middle name. [name]Scarlett[/name] meaning red, [name]Rose[/name] as a mn is a bit too cute. Have you considered a second name between them? [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Elinor[/name] [name]Rose[/name], or something along those lines?

I think [name]Georgia[/name] would work really well. It’s old-fashioned, and goes along with the Gone with the Wind theme.

What if the reason I wanted to name my child [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rose[/name] (which is a translation of ‘red rose’) because it has symbolic meaning to me? My husband has always given me a red rose/red roses for various things throughout our relationship, he even had one waiting for me when he proposed. Would that change your view on the name? I know it is really cutesy but it has such a special meaning to me/us. Or do you think it is still a name that shouldn’t be used?

Additionally what would you think about [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Charles[/name] as a brother to [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rose[/name]?

Well what you should stay away from is the letter S, if it rhymes like [name]Charlotte[/name], no ending sounds of -ette, for example [name]Annette[/name].

[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Antonio[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Emily[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Noah[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Kaya[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]William[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Aubrey[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Levi[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Alexis[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Leo[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Emeline[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Jude[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Leah[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name] & [name]Kale[/name]

Kansas Girl, personally, the meaning behind [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rose[/name] does make a big difference. If you love it, use it! It’s a beautiful name even if it is cutesy. However, I do think you’d still have the meaning even if you just named her [name]Scarlett[/name], or [name]Rose[/name], for that matter!

[name]Scarlett[/name] is usually my number one favorite name, so here are some others I love:

[name]Oscar[/name]- oh, not a good one, unless you want matchy names (scar)

I think if “[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Rose[/name]” has special meaning to you, then use it. I think [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Charles[/name] is a great sibling name for [name]Scarlett[/name], the style and flow of the names seems to match to me. I feel your pain on this question since I’m going to be in the same boat soon.

We named our daughter [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Ann[/name] [name]Grayce[/name] because it has special meaning to our family.

I like [name]Holly[/name] with a sister [name]Scarlett[/name]

[name]Just[/name] had a thought what about [name]Lucia[/name] or [name]Claudia[/name]?

how about?:

Gd luck!

I could see [name]Scarlett[/name] with a [name]Margo[/name] or [name]Pearl[/name], definitely. The other name that comes to mind is [name]Gwyneth[/name]. For a boy, I see a [name]Lincoln[/name] or [name]Dashiell[/name]. [name]Scarlett[/name] is such a beautiful name, it’s hard to live up to it. Best of luck to you!
