What would you name me?

These are my recent photos. What do you think my name would be? Or should be?

I ask because I am thinking of changing my name.

Thank you.

[name]Margot[/name] or [name]Stacia[/name].

To me, you look like a [name]Karin[/name] or [name]Lydia[/name].

[name]Just[/name] a head’s up–legally changing your name is a pain. I’m going through the process now and am at the point where I have gotten my SBI and FBI background check paperwork filled out including sets of official fingerprints. I should have those back and be able to move forward in about 6 weeks.

@alex: why did you decide to do it? [name]Will[/name] it impact the surname you’re planning on giving your son?

[name]Edit[/name]: OP, you look vaguely Scandinavian. I’d select [name]Maren[/name] or [name]Katya[/name].

Wow, what state do you live in? If you don’t mind my asking. I’m in Oregon and both my son and sister have legally changed their first and last names in recent years and I don’t believe they had to go through that.

I’m not Scandinavian. I’m Russian, Scottish, English and [name]German[/name]. I was in [name]Sweden[/name] once, however, and everyone thought I was Swedish. When I was in [name]France[/name] they thought I was [name]German[/name].

I haven’t actually decided yet to change it legally; I may just adopt a new nickname. I’m tired of my name I guess; it makes me feel old and I’m tired of looking at it and writing it.

[name]Frieda[/name] or [name]Clare[/name]

What came to mind first was [name]Madelyn[/name] or [name]Magdalene[/name]

[name]Anya[/name] or [name]Rose[/name]

To me you look like a [name]Juliet[/name] or a [name]Julianna[/name].

Wow, I second this. Spot on.

I also thought [name]Margaret[/name].

I live in NC. I also had to provide a list of all my addresses for the last 10 years. I’m changing it because I’ve been estranged from my father for over a decade. I’ve considered changing it for a long time and the baby is my motivation to do so. His father will not be involved for reasons I’m not comfortable getting into on a public forum, and I felt awkward passing on my name since I have no emotional ties (or biological ties, actually) to it. I’m giving my child a family name from my mom’s side and even though it’s not required that I change my name, I thought the hassle now would make things easier in the long run by us having the same name.

Also, to the OP, I can see the Russian in you. My stepdad and his family, of course, are Russian.

[name]Deborah[/name] was the first one to come to mind.
