Though we’re not 100% set on using [name_u]Scout[/name_u] for our baby girl due in just 4ish (!!) weeks, it is currently DH’s top choice. One of the things holding me back is that while I don’t think sibsets need to be super matchy (i.e. [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] is a little corny), I do appreciate when siblings names at least “go together.” For example, we have friends with a daughter named [name_u]Winter[/name_u], and if their second is a boy they want to name him [name_m]George[/name_m]… and I just loathe how different the names are within the sibset.
With that being said I’d love to hear any suggestions you might have for potential future siblings (male and female) for [name_u]Scout[/name_u].
Hmm… I think pretty much any unisex-y or nickname-y name would work, if that’s what you’re into. The only thing I’d possibly say no to would be the longer, frillier names, I suppose, but even then I don’t think the difference would be too stark.
@books_and_tea - thanks! I like [name_f]Indie[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Lux[/name_f], and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] with [name_u]Scout[/name_u].
@yuma - [name_f]Happy[/name_f] to see [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] on your list (it’s still on our shortlist for this baby)!
I don’t know why, but the first name I thought of was Raven (and I don’t even like the name [name_u]Raven[/name_u]!) I think that [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_u]Raven[/name_u] sound good together.
So do [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u], [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], and [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].
@bethlena - thanks! [name_u]Seren[/name_u], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], and [name_u]Raven[/name_u] were all on our long list for this baby.
@dream.create - thanks for all the suggestions! I quite like [name_u]Oakley[/name_u], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], [name_u]Aspen[/name_u], [name_m]Rivers[/name_m], [name_f]Alaska[/name_f], and [name_u]Piper[/name_u] with [name_u]Scout[/name_u].
@wittyusername103 - how interesting! I would’ve never thought of [name_u]Scout[/name_u] as particularly southern, though I do in general have a thing for southern names. I really like the idea of [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] with [name_u]Scout[/name_u] though for some reason (not sure why) I’m getting a vaguely religious vibe from it which probably wouldn’t work for us.
@erin beth - thanks! We both quite like [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] but unfortunately we pronounce it differently and so could never use it.
@saintdollface - thanks! [name_u]Reese[/name_u] and [name_f]Briar[/name_f] are both decent options.
@bfetzer - thanks! We had [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] on our list for a boy and [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] were both on our girls list.
For me [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] isn’t overly religious - it reminds me all those celebration posters that used to be up at this hall my primary school had assemblies at. I think [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] would be divine.
