[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are currently TTC and while we have a first name in mind for a little boy, we aren’t sure what we would name a girl.
Our daughters are [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and we are struggling to find something that works well with both of them (and sure, sibling names don’t have to sound cohesive but I fear if we pick another ‘unusual’ name then [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] looks like an outlier, and we don’twant that especially since we are a blended family).
So far we have a few ideas that we both like but aren’t sure on: [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] (I think it’s too popular though), [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] (neither of us are huge fans of its Spanish pronunciation and we have family that only speaks Spanish), and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] (my husband has a love/hate relationship with [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], it was on our list with [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] but he doesn’t really care for it anymore).
But since none of them feel quite right, I thought I’d bring the question to all of you lovely name helpers, what would you name a sister to [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]?
I don’t think [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] would be odd if you chose another unusual name. It is not exactly in the mainstream. However, [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] came to mind right away. It is a Greek name like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and a flower name like [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f].
To me, it doesn’t seem too hard to bridge the gap? tbh I know of more real-life Zinnias than Phoebes (not hard to do, I only know 1 [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and no Phoebes!), so the gap between them doesn’t seem that big. Plus, flower names are in so that makes [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] feel more familiar than she really is, I suppose.
I think these work great, for example:
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Liliosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Fiorella[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], and [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
