Let me explain the slightly clickbaity title:
[name_f][/name_f]
Assume you were naming a ridiculous amount of children. [name_m]Like[/name_m] truly impossible numbers.
[name_f][/name_f]
(For example, there used to be a [name_m]Baby[/name_m] a [name_f]Day[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] thread around here that had you name a baby, sometimes twins, every time you logged in. [name_f]Or[/name_f] assume you were immortal and every century or so, the baby fever would just get the better of you. Also I once calculated the maximum number of children from the same womb using a few very stretchy assumptions and got close to 1,500.)
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]No[/name_m] matter how long your longlist is, at some point it would end. Then what?
[name_f][/name_f]Would you start repeating names you have already used?
[name_f][/name_f]Reuse the middle names as firsts?
[name_f][/name_f]Give everyone a unique first but repeat middles, or not use middles at all to “save” names?
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Or[/name_f] would you keep all names different from each other, even if it meant calling your child a name you don’t even like that much?
[name_f][/name_f]Would you get braver over time, finally putting all your GPs to use, or do unusable names stay unusable?
[name_f][/name_f]Let other people have a turn at naming the kids for you?
[name_f][/name_f]Save special names or combos for big milestone numbers?
[name_f][/name_f]
I don’t have an answer for myself, but I’m honestly tempted to dig up (or restart) [name_m]Baby[/name_m] a [name_f]Day[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] just to find out!

I think I’d try my best to use very different names but obviously some might start to sound similar example: [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. I think after a while I’d definitely start using more out there names, I feel like after that many children who cares if the names get a little crazy.
[name_f][/name_f]I think no matter what I’d find a name i like, I have thousands of names on my notes app, though I may not love the 1000th name I’m sure I’ll found one I simply like.
[name_f][/name_f]I have no idea what I would name my 1000th child, but I assume a gp name

I would definitely have similar names, I would probably reuse middle names/first names (but like one child is [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], and another is [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] Anne), and I would definitely[name_f][/name_f] use my gps! I would never repeat names though, that feels too weird for me (but who knows after 500 kids?)
[name_f][/name_f]I would probably start asking my family/friends for name suggestions and taking input more, but I wouldn’t let them name them.

It would take me quite a long time to truly run out of names I at least like a lot. But if I did start to run out, I might start inventing names, letting the older kids weigh in on names, and/or (if things got really dire) start reusing the occasional middle name. All first names would have to be distinct, though!

By the way, I do sort of miss [name_m]Baby[/name_m] a Day…

And, just for fun, I will attempt to answer the title question. [name_f]My[/name_f] guess for child #1000[name_f][/name_f] would be:
[name_f][/name_f]Acorn [name_f]Lennon[/name_f] or [name_m]Zachary[/name_m] [name_m]Urban[/name_m] (names I kinda like, but could never really see myself using irl for various reasons and would probably take me at least several hundred names to go through before I got to them).

[name_m]Super[/name_m] guilty pleasure names like [name_f]Plum[/name_f] and [name_f]Lemon[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]. I think they would have to be a distinct possibility.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Cherry[/name_f] Blossoms for a full name
[name_f][/name_f]
On more common side maybe [name_f]Ann[/name_f] and [name_m]John[/name_m] although they might already be in use [name_f][/name_f].

[name_m]Oh[/name_m] I’d fully embrace the GP of it all at that point I think
[name_f][/name_f] I’m confident there are a thousand names I at least like, if not love. I also would not want to repeat middles but could see myself doing connected middles, eg every tenth child gets a variant of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] as a middle, or something!
