I’m making a journal for our little [name]Felicity[/name] due this [name]July[/name] and I would like to include some things about her name. I was compiling a list of reasons I love it and my mom added some but I would love more feedback. I’ve been stressed out lately so reading some positivity would sure brighten my day.
I love the meaning, the numerous saint connections and that it honors my late grandmother that I miss more than words can express. It is currently an MN on my list but I am strongly considering it for a first.
Things I like about [name]Felicity[/name]:
- its meaning
- it’s distinctive - not part of a family of similar names (i.e. [name]Christine[/name], [name]Kristin[/name], [name]Kristen[/name], [name]Christina[/name]…)
- it’s familiar but not common
[name]Love[/name] [name]Felicity[/name].
Thank you. Please keep sharing. I was kinda depressed when we shared our choice with DH’s family and his 68yo grandmother shared her loud disapproval. She actually said, “yuck, what are we supposed to call her? Feelee?”
Spunky
[name]Sunny[/name]
[name]Happy[/name]
Fun
Cute
Pretty
Not common
First of all, I love the meaning (happiness)
It’s pretty, sounds cute, and not too common.
I don’t know any [name]Felicity[/name] in real life, just some [name]Felicia[/name]. They always called by Feli. but I love the idea of Flicka as a nn.
I like that it is familiar yet not too common (I have never met one in real life). I think when you say it out loud it sounds quite delicate, and very girly…two things I love to see in a girl’s name!
It’s a bit of a new crush for me, and I love that the meaning fit’s the name. [name]Felicity[/name] just screams happy, exciting, fun, girly, lively and all the things that a little girl should be.
I love the possible nicknames Fliss and Lissy, they’re girly and not your average nicknames.
You don’t meet many girls named [name]Felicity[/name], I’ve only ever known one in my life.
I have an acquaintance [name]Felicity[/name] and have seen [name]Fe[/name] as a nn for her. I like the soft, girly sound of it, even though I’m not really a fan of the name.
My angel is [name]Felicity[/name] - I love it’s light, airy feeling, it’s spunk and the meaning.
I love how melodious it is as a word. I love that happy meaning without an overbearing virtue name.
[name]Felicity[/name] was my favorite American Girl doll as a child, haha
[name]LOVE[/name] the nicknames Flicka, [name]Cricket[/name], [name]Lissie[/name], Lis, even the so-vintage-it-hurts [name]Flossie[/name].
It’s uncommon but totally classic and familiar.
I think youve made a great choice!!!
This is my top choice! I’ve loved it ever since I was a little girl. It’s uncommon, but everyone can pronounce it. Classic, fun, beautiful name. We plan to use the nn [name]Fae[/name] or [name]Fee[/name] if we ever have a girl. Congratuations, and don’t let others’ opinions bring you down :). You’ll never make everyone happy with your choice, so pick the one you love.
We were thinking Lissy. Where did you hear [name]Cricket[/name]? That’s cute!
I hadn’t really heard it until I came to this site. I like it a lot; felicity = felicidad = happiness - it’s awesome to hear “happy”, every time someone says your name! It also seems alot funner and less solemn than other virtue names.
What is your first association when you hear the name [name]Felicity[/name]?
My daughter is [name]Bianca[/name] [name]Felicity[/name] and I just love her mn so much! For me, it was almost a wish or a blessing that I hoped for her (happiness). She is the happiest girl I know, so it definitely suits her! Everyone who asks her mn compliments it.
I know everyone has said that, but I love the meaning. It’s one of the few ‘virtue’ names that really works, I think. I also love its sound. [name]Felicity[/name] has a gorgeous rhythm to it. Oh, and it definitely has some good nn potential - [name]Lissa[/name] would be my choice. (You could also use [name]Fifi[/name] but I’m not a fan of that.) I love that it is beautiful, uncommon, familiar, and classic. It calls to mind an elegant, put-together woman, and an adorable, charming little girl.
[name]Felicity[/name] sounds very lively to me. Maybe because I subconsciously associate it with “electricity” (I know, I know, kind of strange.) I also like the meaning and the fact that it is actually a vocabulary word (often used in [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] novels).
I love the meaning. Also, it kind of reminds me of colonial times, and I love history. [name]Felicity[/name]… To be honest, [name]Felicity[/name] makes me think of ribbons, and of little girls romping through the woods. It is indeed a little frilly of a name, but I don’t mind here. It sounds serious but means something free and natural. I love that little paradox.
