What's your favorite boy name?

What’s your favorite boy name and why?

[name_m]Paul[/name_m]. I know it might sound a little boring, but for some reason it’s always sounded both manly, earnest and cute to my ears - the feeling I have is ‘nothing wrong can happen to you if your name is [name_m]Paul[/name_m].’ And [name_m]Paul[/name_m] [name_m]Newman[/name_m], [name_m]Paul[/name_m] [name_m]Simon[/name_m], [name_m]Paul[/name_m] McCartney, [name_m]Paul[/name_m] Revere, [name_m]Paul[/name_m] Verlaine … need I say more ?
Well, I’m also [name_m]French[/name_m], so I like the fact that the name works in so many languages and is recognisable pretty much anywhere.
The only thing is my brother has just used it for his third child, so I can’t use it for my son (due in a month), which pains me immensely !

[name_m]Caspian[/name_m], because I think it’s quite unusual and not very popular, and it is a brilliant name that just sounds so beautiful and magical, especially because of the amazing association with [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] in the ‘Chronicles of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]’.

[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]. It’s always sounded gentle and kind and handsome to me. I love it!

My favorite boy name is [name_u]Reid[/name_u].

It’s just short, sweet and simple, but not boring. I like that it’s not unheard of, but it’s not popular either (at least not where I’m from.) I’m a sucker for names that age well and I think it sounds great for both a child and a grown man. I named my son [name_u]Reid[/name_u] and I can’t picture myself calling him anything else. I don’t think I’ll ever love a name quite as much!

Meh. This topic makes me all depressed, haha. I’m not sure I really have a favorite boys’ name anymore. For the past four years it has been [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]. I like the earnest, sunshiny personality [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] seems to have, his sensitivity, that [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] has always been familiar, but never rampantly popular. He’s sensitive, sweet, kind, selfless, gentlemanly, heroic. I love the ties to the Biblical [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]–a spy who wasn’t intimidated by his enemy, but who believed that his God would overcome them, a man who was a mighty, renowned warrior far into his 80s, who was talked about with respect generations after his passing. The Biblical [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] was awesome. [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] was the first name I really latched onto, that I could imagine myself having a son with the name, that I could imagine loving a son with the name. I have had some issues with guys in my life, so that I even wanted a son is pretty much thanks to adorable little [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]. On the other hand, it just seems to be getting less and less impressive, less like a crush and more like it’s just there. It’s not exciting anymore. So I suppose we’ll see. I want him to be my favorite always, and I adore him, and I can’t really see me without an [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], but I guess time will tell, really. My runner-up would be [name_u]Everett[/name_u], or [name_u]Avery[/name_u]. I really adore both of them.

[name_u]Drew[/name_u]. For the longest time I’ve imagined having a little boy named [name_u]Drew[/name_u]. Not [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], just [name_u]Drew[/name_u]. I think it may be at least partially attributed to my early childhood love of [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_u]Drew[/name_u] books. I just have always pictured my darling little [name_u]Drew[/name_u].

[name_m]Lucas[/name_m]. I’ve probably said it several times on here, but I love it’s soft sensitivity, the sweet first syllable paired with the stronger second, how open it both looks and sounds. [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] sounds like an intelligent, easy-going person. To me, it’s a soft blue colour, like duck egg.

The only thing I hate is the fact that it’s getting quite trendy, which means that by the time I have kids it could sound dated. :frowning:

I love the name [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] for a boy. It’s a little quirky but something that’s easily pronounced, not too popular, and ages well.

[name_m]Macsen[/name_m] (has been for about 5 or 6 years!)

It’s a Welsh name, which honors a good portion of my heritage. It actually has a pretty rich history to it, despite the fact that many people initially judge it as a trendy, ‘made-up’ name. Additionally, I genuinely enjoy the way it sounds and looks on paper, I like the nickname Macs, and it was the very first name my husband and I both loved. I also adore the fact that it means ‘greatest’, and that it’s not currently in the top 1000 in the US.

I absolutely adore the name [name_m]Santiago[/name_m]. I love how it sounds, how it links to my Spanish heritage and it’s not popular at all where I live. Also, when I see this name I remember all the little shells I’ve seen on the floor near churches in the cities I’ve visited that mark the way to [name_m]Santiago[/name_m] de Compostela and it reminds me of these amazing months I spent in [name_f]France[/name_f] and traveling around Europe. I’d love to have a little [name_m]Santiago[/name_m] in the future.

Easily has to be [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]. I love it because it’s a sweet sounding two syllable name. Also since I have Scottish heritage it’s relates back to that as well. Also because it has some pretty cool nicknames that go only with it like [name_m]Lock[/name_m], [name_f]Lockie[/name_f] and Locks. If I had a son right now his name would most likely be [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] even though it is pretty popular in NZ.

Well, it’s always changing, but lately I am falling fast for [name_m]Jethro[/name_m]. I have very strong imagery for this name - I see a quiet, calm little boy with a kind, gentle soul, a vivid imagination and creative mind. Runner up would be [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m], which feels very playful and mischievous.

[name_m]Reuben[/name_m], by far. It’s uncommon, yet rich with Biblical history; it’s familiar, but I’ve never met anyone with this name.
My close second is [name_u]Owen[/name_u]-if I can convince my husband

Well for me it just has to be [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]. I can’t think of a better name - it’s sweet, simple, easy to pronounce, recognisable. It’s popular but I’d say more classically popular than trendy popular such as [name_u]Ayden[/name_u], [name_u]Jayden[/name_u] etc. I honestly don’t think there’s a name with a better meaning than “he laughs.” When I hear [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] it conjures up feelings of happiness, sunshine and such positive vibes. I love that it’s a biblical name, and it falls within my style of names, e.g. [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_u]Micah[/name_u], [name_u]Noah[/name_u] etc. It will stand the test of time and will suit him at any age. He won’t be overlooked because of his name when it comes to jobs and applications. [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] can be anything he wants to be…

Similarly to a few other posts, I just couldn’t imagine not having a son named [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]. There’s four other boy’s names that I love but they just don’t come close. Luckily, my partner loves [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] too so hopefully one day my dream will come true and I will have an [name_m]Isaac[/name_m].

My favourite boys name is [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I think its adorable on a baby, and strong and masculine on a man. It also has so many middle name potentials, and I have really good associations with it

Without hestication [name_m]Edward[/name_m] . I absolutely adore that name & I plan to name my son that . For me its a name that sounds classy , old fashioned , handsome & gives to me a very gentleman feel . I can easily picture it to a baby , to a teen , to a man & to a grandpa . I imagine a boy with an “old soul” , someone with great manners . And I can’t help it feel like that after so many movies that have [name_m]Edward[/name_m] as a protagonist

That’s [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. I also love [name_u]Iann[/name_u], [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

[name_m]Silas[/name_m]

[name_f]Love[/name_f] it’s history and grandpa-ish feel.

[name_u]Emmett[/name_u], I adore it, I love how it’s a name that can grow with a little boy. It’s strong and masculine and absolutely perfect! It’s the one name that me and my oh have actually agreed on.
Other boy names I love are: [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m].
