I know this name is quite out of fashion these days, but I’ve always had the biggest soft spot for the name [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] and would strongly consider it as a middle name. However, it’s a bit of a joke that it’s the most “inconvenient name” as there’s 150+ ways to spell it (no, I’m serious!!) [name_f][/name_f]
What’s your favourite, and why? Bonus points if you share your least favourite too!
[name_f][/name_f]
Also, since this is a trend right now, if you had to use one of the [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] variants in a combo, what would you pair it with? Today I really like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f].
my favourite would be Caitlin, though i’ve developed a bit of a soft spot for Caitlyn after watching Arcane as one of the main characters spells it like that i also like Kaitlin, and Katelyn isn’t too bad.
this list is incredible!! Catland?! my least favourite would probably be Kayetlynne or one of the Keight- ones
i like Matilda Katelyn! right now, i’d do Elodie Caitlin
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] are my favorites! I like the streamlined look. [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f], [name_f]Catelyn[/name_f], and [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] also appeal to me.
[name_f][/name_f]
From the chart above, I think Cayetlynne would be my least favorite because of the sheer amount of unnecessary letters [name_f][/name_f] However, I’ve never heard of that spelling in real life – of the ones I’ve actually come across, [name_f]Caitlan[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaitlan[/name_f] are my least favorites because I want to pronounce the second syllable like “lan” (to rhyme with [name_m]Dan[/name_m] or Stan) instead of “lyn”.
[name_f][/name_f]
And my combo right now would be [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is definitely [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], which I love.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Katelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f], [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f], and [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] are all equal in my mind. They’re okay but not my favorite.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite: original [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]Least favorite: some really out there, non-intuitive spelling… Caetland? Keightlind? K8lyn?
[name_f][/name_f]
If I had to use it as a first name, I’d go with [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f]If I had to use it as a middle name, I’d go with [name_f]Verona[/name_f] [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].
Definitely [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]! I think it just feels a lot more sparkly and charming with this spelling, although I couldn’t tell you why.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] least favourites would probably be anything starting with Keigh- or ending with -land, so I suppose Keightland would be the final boss of “bad” spellings for me!
I like the simple [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], though I’ve always liked [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] too. [name_f][/name_f] I’m not sure there’s any others I actually like, so that’s a lot of least favorites to rate. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] The Keight- ones are exceptionally terrible though. [name_f][/name_f]
Iv3e always had a soft spot for this name too, even with the multitudes I grew up with; it’s just so soft sounding. I had [name_f]Katelynne[/name_f] on my list as a teenager, and that’s still my personal favourite spelling. I also like [name_f]Catelin[/name_f]. I have a niece named [name_f]Kate[/name_f] (whose middle name is Lynn) or I would likely still have it on my list.
[name_f][/name_f]
For a combo I like the idea of [name_f]Catelin[/name_f] [name_f]Indigo[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Elina[/name_f] [name_f]Katelynne[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
I come from [name_m]Irish[/name_m] family and that’s my cousin’s name. Always looked the most “right” to me. (My cousin [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] is also the reason I like that spelling best for that name. First exposures!)
I find [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] really visually appealing, and [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] would probably be my first guess at spelling if someone told me they have this name. [name_f]My[/name_f] spelling choice would be [name_f]Katelin[/name_f]. I like the concise look of it. I wouldn’t streamline so far as [name_f]Katlin[/name_f] as that’s giving PN issues. [name_f]My[/name_f] least favourites are the longer versions, e.g. Kaytelinne, too many letters for my liking.
[name_f][/name_f]
I think [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] is such a pretty name. I like Jomara [name_f]Katelin[/name_f]
This is one of those names that is too well-used in my own generation for me to ever consider as a first name, but if I happened to have a [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] worth honoring in the family I would totally consider as a family middle, because it is a pretty name.
[name_f][/name_f]
I agree that [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] looks the prettiest to me, though [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] feels like the most classic way to spell it. I prefer either all i-s (no ys) or no i-s—so [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], not [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] or Caytlin.
As someone named [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], I also have this chart saved [name_f][/name_f]. I love it so much and it’s so fascinating!
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite spelling is probably either mine because it’s mine, or [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]. I also have a soft spot for double-Ns, so maybe [name_f]Katelynn[/name_f]?
[name_f][/name_f]
I don’t know if I have a least favorite, as so many of these have so many unnecessary letters.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] combo rn would be [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] or [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f].
As a [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f], I’m a little biased [name_f][/name_f]- I’ve always liked my spelling and I’ve always thought the [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] spelling is cute. [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f], [name_f]Katelin[/name_f] and [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] are also good. I really dislike the extra letters and unintuitive spellings as if there aren’t already enough spellings
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] combo right now would be [name_f]Kelsey[/name_f] [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite spelling probably has to be the classic [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], with [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Catelin[/name_f] 2nd and 3rd [name_f][/name_f]- [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] is the name of one of my favourite youtubers, so I have a strong positive association there, and [name_f]Catelin[/name_f] has a medieval vibe I like as well as appearing several times on my family tree.
[name_f][/name_f]
If I was using the name for my daughter, I would probably spell it [name_f]Catelin[/name_f] for the honour connection, and because I think it fits better with others on my list.
[name_f][/name_f]
I like the combos [name_f]Catelin[/name_f] Acorn and [name_f]Hestia[/name_f] [name_f]Catelin[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite spelling is definitely [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]! It feels the warmest to me. [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f], and [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] all feel very natural to me too, and I would jump to any one of them as a default spelling.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] is really cute!
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] for sure!! I don’t like it spelled with a C and I don’t like the “in” ending, but for no real reason at all.
Favourite: [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] (the ‘c’ is softer and the spelling is intuitive, but I do like Katelyn/Katelin as well)) [name_f][/name_f]Least: Keightlynne or Kayetlynne (unnecessary letters)
I think my favorite would be either [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] or [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f], with the original [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] up there, too
[name_f][/name_f]
of the ones ive met in real life, my least favorite spelling is [name_f]Katlyn[/name_f] because to me that should be said as kat-lynn (ive even known one who went by [name_f]Kat[/name_f], like the animal… but her full name [name_f]Katlyn[/name_f] was pronounced kate-lyn!)
[name_f][/name_f]
im also not super keen on [name_f]Katelyn[/name_f]. it just strikes me more as a smush name [name_f]Kate[/name_f] + [name_f]Lynn[/name_f] than a name in its own right
