whats your impression on fable

I think fable is so adorable. And I haven’t found ANY boys names I like. My SO thinks all the names I choose (for girls) are ridiculous …so I want opinions before I bring it to his attention.
The only thing we have agreed on is the name [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] (or [name_u]Olly[/name_u]) for a boy or girl because we aren’t finding out till the baby is born.
I like artsy names, and the last name will be [name_m]Brown[/name_m] so any other suggestions are welcome.
God bless

Are you thinking [name_u]Fable[/name_u] for a boy? I’m not sure about [name_u]Fable[/name_u] for a boy. A girl it would be cute. I’m not sure with the last name [name_m]Brown[/name_m]. I like [name_u]Story[/name_u] as well.

You will have to be careful with the word names. Because of the last name though

I told him his last name is a tough one to work with! That made him feel bad :frowning: … I liked color names to begin with… also I always wanted the middle name [name_f]May[/name_f] because that’s both my parents birth month… but someone was like it sounds like the bananas may brown…

I love the name [name_u]Fable[/name_u], but it’s all girl to me.

Not a fan.

[name_m]Able[/name_m] brown would be nice, though.

I like it. It sounds like [name_m]Able[/name_m], so I’m not sure why people think it sways girl? Maybe because it also sounds like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], haha. Regardless, I think it suits a male just fine. [name_m]Brown[/name_m] is hard to work with if you like word names as a first. I like them, too. [name_u]Olly[/name_u]/[name_u]Ollie[/name_u] is great.

Personally, [name_u]Fable[/name_u] sounds more boyish to me but I think most names that end in -ble sound boyish.

Some other ideas (sorry for any repeats): [name_m]Lysander[/name_m], [name_m]Evander[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_m]Fabian[/name_m], [name_m]Jett[/name_m] (although if someone reads ln, fn it would be [name_m]Brown[/name_m], [name_m]Jett[/name_m]- too descriptive?), [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] (the number 5 is in there), [name_m]Ronan[/name_m], [name_m]Damon[/name_m], [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_u]Tate[/name_u], [name_m]Abram[/name_m], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], [name_u]Adair[/name_u], [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], [name_m]Rhett[/name_m], [name_m]Dimitri[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Conrad[/name_m], [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], Wyeth, Cirrus, Vivek

I immediately think of the video game lol but that isn’t a bad representation I guess. I like it as a name.

I like [name_u]Fable[/name_u], slightly better for a girl but for a boy it’s nice, too. My only concern is the lack of nicknames. [name_f]Fae[/name_f] and [name_u]Abby[/name_u] are too girly, [name_m]Ab[/name_m] maybe? But it would be fine without nickname, I think.

[name_u]Fable[/name_u] is very feminine to me. but I guess there’s enough difference of opinion here that it can truly go either way. Maybe you’d like [name_u]Harbor[/name_u], [name_u]Ever[/name_u], [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Yarrow[/name_u], [name_u]Dakota[/name_u]…?

I personally think [name_u]Fable[/name_u] is more feminine, but when I consider the [name_u]Fable[/name_u] games, I think boy.

My concern is [name_u]Fable[/name_u] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] kind of trips up my tongue with the B’s and sounds a bit wordy, I would avoid noun names with a noun surname. (My opinion!)

As a middle it could work for either gender, [name_u]Olly[/name_u]/[name_u]Ollie[/name_u] [name_u]Fable[/name_u] [name_m]Brown[/name_m]. I love [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_u]Fable[/name_u] or [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Fable[/name_u] also!

[name_u]Fable[/name_u] feels feminine to me (perhaps because it rhymes with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and because [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is a feminine name). [name_u]Fable[/name_u] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] would be a sweet girl name.

[name_m]Gable[/name_m] would feel masculine, though, or Grable, which would come with the possible nickname [name_u]Gray[/name_u], although [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] might sound odd. [name_m]Gable[/name_m] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] is growing on me! You might also like [name_u]Dale[/name_u], which in my experience is pretty unisex (I’ve met more male Dales but one or two female Dales).
