Where do i begin?

Hey, berries!

I need your naming expertise to help me create an alias. You see, I have no idea where to begin! I’d like some advice from people who have aliases for blogs and things like that, how they came up with their’s, and etc. Also, of course, any suggestions are perfectly welcome.

I don’t know what else to say, but please, please help!

I would personally go with a name you love as a first. Not just a name you love, but a name that you would absolutely choose for yourself if you’d been given the chance. The last name for your alias can be a number of things, maybe the same of your artistic or literary idol, maybe the name of your school or street growing up. Maybe your maternal grandmother’s maiden name. It could be derived from an element of nature meaningful to you and it could also be a name derived from the meaning of your last name in a different language.

Thank you, @lovelace. Your suggestions are very good and helpful. Except that leaves a long list of possible fns:D I especially like the idea of using grandmother’s maiden name for a ln.

Anyone else?

Yea, a lot of what lovelace said, something that means a lot to you, such as say (this is all theoretical) your grandma’s name, [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], your favorite childhood pet’s initial, ([name_f]Daisy[/name_f]) D., and your favorite literary character’s last name (Pride and Prejudice’s [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_m]Bennet[/name_m]) [name_m]Bennet[/name_m], and you get [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] D. [name_m]Bennet[/name_m]. Or maybe just change your true name with maybe some family lineage, so (again, theorietical haha) if your name is [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Gerde[/name_f], and you are mostly [name_m]German[/name_m], you could be [name_f]Katarina[/name_f] E. Gjerde? I don’t know haha, you could have lots of fun with this

Thank you, @hannahcarmeen. Your suggestions were much appreciated. And you’re right, I have been enjoying myself as I brainstorm names:)

For my alias, I use the same initials as my actual name and the last name is kind of similar. The first name is an author as well a historical character that I like so it has special meaning to me that way. I have another author friend who uses a foreign language heritage to play on her actual name.
