We all have names that we’ve loved for years and years and years…
But I want to know, which are the most RECENT additions to your list? Maybe you just stumbled across the name for the very first time, maybe you’ve known the name for decades but its beauty only just revealed itself to you in an odd moment of clarity.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]! I always though it was too popular, but I realized I like it. It has a ton of nicknames (my favorite being [name_f]Mia[/name_f]), and I don’t have an issue with the popularity - it actually isn’t in my state’s top 50 anyway, and I’ve never met an [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
And [name_u]Sage[/name_u] as well.
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m]! I never gave it any thought until someone posed the question recently of if it could make a good brother for [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. Suddenly, it became accessible. I love the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] connection. My fiance stared at me like I grew a second head when I suggested it, but I think it’s smashing.
Ironically (and completely different from that thread), I’ve also warmed up to [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. I used to think it was so cheesily romantic and far too literary. But I’m coming around to it. And I really like it with my top name, [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. Now it’s still girly and romantic, but not in an over-the-top, frilly way.
fanciful - I adore [name_m]Caspian[/name_m], he’s firmly on my list too.
aggielou - With the exception of [name_m]Palmer[/name_m] I’m loving all of those girls names! The only one on my list is [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], but I would give [name_f]Maeva[/name_f] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u] a second thought.
liztheartist - [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] though it doesn’t quite make it onto my list. [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] is great but I am reserving [name_u]August[/name_u] names for my girls list as for some reason I much prefer [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] on girls.
The most recent one I’ve begun to love, is [name_f]Charlee[/name_f] for a girl. I’ve been back and forth for so long on whether or not I like the name at all. I would like it for a girl, and then for a boy, and then not at all. I’ve met enough Charlies, boys and girls, to know now that I like the spelling [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] on a boy, and more feminine spellings on girls. I know a little boy named [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_m]Greyson[/name_m], and it really suits him, and a little girl named [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and spelling it that way on a girl really turns me off for some reason. I knew a woman that was going to name her baby [name_f]Charlee[/name_f] [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] if it was a girl, but her baby ended up being a boy. So, I said ALL of that to say, that now I am a big fan of [name_f]Charlee[/name_f], even though it is not very Nameberry friendly.
I know a girl named [name_u]Charley[/name_u] that uses it as a nickname for [name_f]Charlene[/name_f]. What do you think of [name_u]Charley[/name_u] for a girl?
Anyway, the girl’s name I’ve most recently added is [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. I’ve been trying to find an elegant, delicate, simple girl’s name I love as much as [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. Once upon a time I would have said [name_f]Anna[/name_f], but I can’t use it now.
I’ve recently started loving [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f]. I used to absolutely hate [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] but it’s just the opposite now…
Most of my recent additions are names I’ve always liked but just now added to the formal list.
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Tesla[/name_f]
[name_u]Hero[/name_u]
[name_f]Kirrily[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Jovita[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
I like [name_u]Charley[/name_u] for a girl! [name_f]Charlee[/name_f] would be my favorite spelling though. I think [name_f]Charlee[/name_f]/[name_u]Charley[/name_u] is a really cute nickname for [name_f]Charlize[/name_f]
Boys: [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_f]Indigo[/name_f] (renewed love), [name_m]Isidore[/name_m], [name_m]Phelan[/name_m]
A lot more for girls, but I’ll do the five most recent:
[name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f], [name_f]Allegra[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f], [name_f]Acantha[/name_f], [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]
