Oh my gosh, i love [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] Pym! I’m so pleased to see this post! Its a great list of names- i went for [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] which i’d be most likely to use, but i love [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] too. Thanks for posting
It is a thrill to find another Pym-lover, is it not?
I hope to attend the annual [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] Pym conference in Cambridge, Massachusetts one of these springs.
And yes, I agree, [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f], [name_f]Prudence[/name_f], and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] are wonderfully Pymmy.
For anyone new to Pym, I would recommend her first novel, written at 25, Some Tame [name_f]Gazelle[/name_f], which is about two middle-aged women ([name_f]Belinda[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_m]Bede[/name_m]) who live a full and wonderful life in spite of (or because of?) their “spinster” status.
I only like [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] out of those. I like the nicknames [name_f]Prue[/name_f] and Prim, or [name_f]Posy[/name_f].
I’ll post the only one I [name_m]DON[/name_m]'T like: [name_f]Mildred[/name_f]. My faves are [name_f]Belinda[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and [name_f]Prudence[/name_f].
You’ve got me thinking of [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] Pym combos now…
