I voted for [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_u]Murray[/name_u] and [name_m]Burke[/name_m]. [name_m]Buchanan[/name_m] I really like too, but rather as a middle name. Really liking [name_u]Murray[/name_u]!
I love [name_m]Leander[/name_m] and [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]. I have heard of a girl named [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], but I much prefer it as a boy’s name.
I too prefer [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] for a male. In fact, I can’t imagine it on a girl. I think of [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_u]Chandler[/name_u]'s private eye, [name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] and English writer [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]. It is smooth and strong.
My favorite is [name_m]Leander[/name_m]. I want to like [name_m]Philo[/name_m] because it has a nice meaning, but it’s too close to phyllo dough to me.
I suppose I can imagine a sleek hound as an [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m] or a tidy British spaniel as a [name_m]Pendleton[/name_m]. [name_u]Truth[/name_u] be told though, I consider most dog and human names as one and the same. Not Fido or Rover certainly, but I’ve known both human animals and non-human animals named [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_m]Clyde[/name_m], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Beulah[/name_f], [name_m]Luc[/name_m], and the like.
