Hmm. While Avielle and Aviella both sound very pretty, they also feel a bit made up, and might get lost among all the Avas. Of the three remaining names, I think [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] stands out in a great way, plus it has quite a few nickname options. [name_f]Estella[/name_f] is also lovely, in a vintage, buttoned-up way. [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] is nice enough, too, but ultimately [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] gets my vote!

And as a [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f], your MN choice gets a big thumbs up from me ;D

My Hebrew name is [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] so I’m a little bit biased. [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] is my second.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you find people mispronounce it a lot? - I’m a little worried some people may call her “air-ee-ella” (due to the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Mermaid influence). [name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce it?

[name_f]Estella[/name_f] is my favorite. Beautiful name.

I have taught two girls who pronounce it that way, but I was never found of it. I pronounce mine r-ee-l-lah

I think Avielle is unique and less frilly than the other options. So pretty!!

[name_f]Estella[/name_f] is so pretty. There are so many nickname options, like [name_f]Stella[/name_f] (which is one of my favorite names!), [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Essie[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f]… It’s strikingly beautiful.

Thanks for the comments guys. I think it’s down to [name_f]Estella[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] now.

Any other opinions?

Thanks again for your help!

I love [name_f]Estella[/name_f], but [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] is lovely and more intriguing/refreshing, so she got my vote!

I voted for [name_f]Estella[/name_f]. I assumed [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] was pronounced “air-ee-ella” and I think that would be the common thought. Since that isn’t your prefered pronunciation I would go with [name_f]Estella[/name_f].

[name_f]Estella[/name_f] gets my vote!

I’ve never heard of [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] before, though I know a girl named [name_f]Areta[/name_f], which is lovely.
That being said, my vote is for [name_f]Ariella[/name_f].

[name_f]Ariella[/name_f] is just so ethereally beautiful to me, one of my favorite names. There’s nothing wrong with [name_f]Estella[/name_f] but she just doesn’t really compare to [name_f]Ariella[/name_f], she’s more demure and old-lady.
I think [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] is commonly pronounced the “air” way but [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] is usually like the letters “r-e-l”, it might get mispronounced some times but definitely not all the time.

Thanks to everyone who has voted/commented so far. OH is now wanting to use either [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] or [name_f]Arietta[/name_f]…so maybe we’ll just see which suits her best after arrival. I love [name_f]Estella[/name_f] too…it’s really hard when you like lots of names isn’t it?!

I vote for [name_f]Ariella[/name_f], [name_f]Estella[/name_f] is nice but at the same time it sounds like for older women imo… And the other names sound made up .

Voted for Avielle but I also love [name_f]Arietta[/name_f].

Agreed! If [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Arianne[/name_f] weren’t my top two girls’ names, I would seriously consider [name_f]Ariella[/name_f]. (Then again, I’d seriously consider a lot of replacements for them, lol–[name_f]Arabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], even the [name_m]French[/name_m] [name_f]Aurore[/name_f]… le sigh.)

I agree with the first part, but not the latter. I’ve always said it [name_f]Ariella[/name_f], and that was my assumption, but I think you could easily correct people, and they’d catch on. And one would hope that after they know her, they wouldn’t continue calling her [name_f]AIR[/name_f]-ee-ella. It seems like a quick fix to me, especially if it’s “the one”.

[name_f]Arietta[/name_f] is nice, too (I remember coming across someone with [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] [name_f]Irisa[/name_f] as her top choice for a girl, and thinking it was so ethereally beautiful! I still like it a lot, or even [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I just like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] names more than [name_f]Etta[/name_f] ones.).

Good luck!

1 [name_f]Estella[/name_f] - a literary name with a vintage charm
2 [name_f]Ariella[/name_f] - feminine and lush
3 [name_f]Arietta[/name_f] - pretty and sweet

[name_f]Estella[/name_f] gets my vote. Beautiful name and lovely meaning…
