maisie or isla. (apparently i have a thing for scottish names =))

maisie would be simply maisie. not as a nn for margaret (personally not a fan). haven’t decided on a mn yet, but DH likes beatrix/beatrice so he could call her “mae bea”…corny? yes, but that’s my DH =)

isla would probably be isla june (for my gma) or isla maeve (for my mom).

DS is beckett reed. i’m not too worried about the popularity of either. maisie isn’t even in the top 1,000 yet and isla just broke through. even with all the talk about isla on the name boards i just don’t think too many people are choosing it because of possible pronunciation issues.

Definitely [name]Isla[/name]. [name]Maisie[/name] is very cute as a nickname for a young child, but I really can’t imagine it on an adult. If you don’t like [name]Margaret[/name], what about [name]Mabel[/name] or [name]Mariana[/name] (or any [name]Mary[/name] variation)? It could even potentially be a nickname for [name]Maeve[/name]. Speaking of which, [name]Isla[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] is really gorgeous!
