Hello everyone! I’m working on middle names for [name]Astoria[/name] now. This has been a favorite name of mine for a while, I think it might be #2 on the list overall. The only problem is I’m not sure whether to give her a Japanese middle name like her older sister would have, or to do something else entirely. So, I’ve come up with some options for each.
If you can, please pick one “top” MN from each of the two categories:
I like [name]Astoria[/name] Rumi a lot! I think Rumi could pass for either a Japanese middle name or a middle name from another heritage (Rumi was also a Persian poet, but his name means, “The [name]Roman[/name]”).
From Wikipedia: “Rumi’s importance is considered to transcend national and ethnic borders. His poems have been widely translated into many of the world’s languages and transposed into various formats.”
[name]Astoria[/name] [name]Hanako[/name] ([name]Hanako[/name] is one of my favourite Japanese girls names)
[name]Astoria[/name] Rumi
[name]Astoria[/name] Isaye
If your daughter has some Japanese heritage, then a Japanese mn would be a great way to honour that culture and to make a connection between the two sisters. If you just like Japanese names, it would be ok to choose a name from another origin if you find a name you love. I think [name]Astoria[/name] Clémence is gorgeous!
[name]Astoria[/name] Rumi and [name]Astoria[/name] [name]Fallon[/name] are my top two from your lists, but [name]Astoria[/name] [name]Margot[/name] was my first thought so I’ll throw that out there also
mischa: She would have a little Japanese heritage. Not half-blooded or anything, but there is some on my side. So there’s that, but we do just love the culture. Me, personally, I love the beautiful name meanings!
I think my favorite from your list is [name]Astoria[/name] [name]Indigo[/name] but I love the meanings of the Japanese names you have picked out. Great list.
