I prefer [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] rather than [name_f]Swan[/name_f], this is a last name for me. Valetine is a bit masculine for my taste, but [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] is lovely. [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] has a nice flow.
I much prefer [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]. [name_f]Swan[/name_f] just a) doesn’t really sound like a name, and b) I don’t feel that it suits [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] - it’s a little clunky.
I voted [name_f]Roselyn[/name_f] [name_f]Swan[/name_f] I think it will go nicely with big sister [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]. Both are lovely though.
thanks looks pretty even split here too so far, hopefully that will change. I really do like either one so I may let Hubby decide in the end!
Anymore suggestions/votes it is still neck and neck with these two names!
I voted [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_f]Swan[/name_f]! If I remember rightly, you have another daughter called [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f], so it would be a nice link to her name. I also think the story of how you came up with [name_f]Swan[/name_f] is cute and funny
[name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] is a bit of a mouthful [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
Thanks @ew314 Yes we have a [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]
I asked hubby this morning which one he is leanng toward and he is torn too! He likes that [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_f]Swan[/name_f] sounds fairtytale inspired which is what we wanted in her name, but he loves [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] we had her middle name selected long before her 1st name.
I love [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_f]Swan[/name_f]. It’s very Fairytale-esque, and reminds me of the ballet [name_f]Swan[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u]. As was said before, it would be a sweet link to older sister [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f] :).
[name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] is pretty too, but to me it sounds a bit clunky, and has an older vintage feel to it, but either way you go your daughter will have a beautiful name.
it really depends on the last name, because [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] would only work with a one syllable last name, but [name_f]Swan[/name_f] would be more versatile for different syllable counts in the last name.
We aren’t using [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] we are using [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]. Both sound fine with our last name
Alone I prefer [name_u]Valentine[/name_u], but in the combo I think [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_f]Swan[/name_f] looks and sounds better, probably due to the contrast in length/syllables.
Thank you everyone. I suppose since it is so close and we are a divided home we wil just wait and see which one she looks like to us!
