Which name do you like best and why?

Claire, Clara, and Cora are all very similar names and I can’t decide which one I like best. What would you choose and why?

I would go for [name_f]Clara[/name_f] because it’s classic, elegant and feminine. Plus, I can picture it on a child as well as a teenager or an adult.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a classic too, but I have a harder time picturing it on a child.

[name_f]Cora[/name_f] is beautiful too, but it feels like a modern name - I prefer classic or vintage names but this is just me.

I prefer [name_u]Clare[/name_u].

Clara. It’s beautiful, elegant, classic, and the most “complete” feeling to me!

i prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f] just bc i prefer more unique names, plus i also prefer its sound

but my fav fav would be [name_f]Coral[/name_f]

In order

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]- it feels so light and feminine and pretty. There are many middle names you can pair with [name_f]Clara[/name_f] which gives it a overall lovely name meaning combo.

[name_f]Cora[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] the [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] reference with this name. I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] does feel really punchy though and feels quite magmatic. Which is totally a different vibe to [name_f]Clara[/name_f].

[name_f]Claire[/name_f]- Sorry I’ve never got on board with this name. It feels like every other woman I meet in her late 20s/early 30s is a [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. Feels like a very generational name for me. In the same way [name_f]Emma[/name_f] does. I find [name_f]Claire[/name_f] a bit boring.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]. It’s timeless, elegant and beautiful. It also ages well.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] 100% !! I know of a child called [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and when I met her I thought her name was so unexpected yet so pretty ! and it suits her so well

I definitely prefer [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is a very sweet and dignified name. I also like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] but [name_f]Cora[/name_f] sounds a little too mystical and “witchy” to me.

[name_f]Cora[/name_f] is my favourite. It feels a bit fresher and funkier than the others, a bit more personality to it.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] next, then [name_f]Claire[/name_f], which I find to be sophisticated but a bit of a “mum name” (very popular among my schoolfriends’ mums, now in their mid-late 50s).

Fave to least fave:

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] - sweet and classic
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] - a little spunky
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - feels a little more old lady to me but still a nice classic

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Clara[/name_f]! So so sweet. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is my second favorite

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] ! It reminds me of the nutcracker . I love [name_f]Claire[/name_f] too but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] feels more unique

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]! [name_u]Bright[/name_u], clear and pretty

I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. I think it’s a really pretty name. [name_f]Vintage[/name_f] without being outdated.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] both feel old to me. Not in a vintage way but in an outdated way.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I choose [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. It just feels the most classic. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is lovely as well, but it just doesn’t feel as elegant. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is fine as well, but again…not as classic. Maybe kind of 80s.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

i think cora is gorgeous! it’s one of my favorite names. i would then rank claire, and finally clara. i like all of them tho!

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]. To me it’s just a little more interesting than [name_f]Claire[/name_f], which I still like but it doesn’t quite have the tailored, vintage vibe that endears me to [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I don’t mind [name_f]Cora[/name_f] but it’s just not a favourite of mine.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]. I think it’s a beautiful, classic vintage / heritage name that has a contemporary feel. It’s not stiff and buttoned up like some older names, and also doesn’t have the ‘scullery maid’ or ‘old lady’ feel of others. It’s elegant and timeless.

[name_f]Claire[/name_f] is still very 80s-90s to me, and I don’t particularly like it’s sound, but that’s just personal taste. It sounds horrible in some [name_f]English[/name_f] accents - ‘Clurgh’.

I do really like [name_f]Cora[/name_f], it’s old fashioned but fits the current trend for shorter -a ending names. But I don’t think I’d use it because of a) apple corer and b) it doesn’t have the elegance of [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. It’s far more ‘homespun’, feels Irish and reminds me of the little girl in Titanic, which I like, but I think I’d ultimately want something more elegant.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] > [name_f]Cora[/name_f] > [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
