I think they both go well with [name_m]Crew[/name_m] and [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]. I slightly prefer [name_m]Bode[/name_m], personally prefer the [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] spelling.
Oh boy, I’m not sure how helpful I’ll be, because both names are gorgeous and have merit, but here goes:
I personally slightly prefer [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] over [name_m]Bode[/name_m], but I slightly prefer the flow of [name_m]Bode[/name_m] [name_m]Ransom[/name_m].
Points you might like to consider:
If you like both equally, and your partner prefers [name_m]Bode[/name_m] - perhaps that’s a vote for [name_m]Bode[/name_m].
If you decided right now to call him [name_m]Bode[/name_m], would you feel disappointed over missing [name_m]Bowen[/name_m]?
[name_m]Bowen[/name_m] could also be nicknamed [name_m]Bowie[/name_m]?
In regards to honor names, and in no way am I saying a name or a person is more important / deserving than another, but just thoughts:
[name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] is named after grandpa - would it be on your side or your partner’s side?
I don’t know if [name_m]Crew[/name_m] has an honor name as well, and if so the names are “balanced” - as in one has an honor name from your side and the other has a name from your partner’s side of the family. If that’s the case, perhaps [name_m]Bode[/name_m] [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] would keep the “balance”. If that’s not the case, and only one side of the family has been honored, perhaps a name that honors the someone on the other side of the family would be a way to go.
If you were this were to be your last little boy, would you regret not using [name_m]Philips[/name_m] after your father, for example?
I apologize if none of this made any sense, and especially if I crossed any lines, I tried my best to explain my thoughts/questions. Best of luck to you guys!
I prefer [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m] though i think I’d be more inclined to pick [name_m]Bode[/name_m] [name_m]Phillips[/name_m] if it was an option
[name_m]Just[/name_m] thinking of the first names here…
I prefer the [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] spelling. When I see [name_m]Bode[/name_m] I think it is pronounced “[name_m]Bow[/name_m]-day” not “[name_m]Bow[/name_m]-dee.”
But between [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]/[name_m]Bode[/name_m] and [name_m]Bowen[/name_m], I personally like [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] best!
Thank you for your input and you totally make sense! I really think I like [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] and [name_m]Bode[/name_m] equally. My husband definitely prefers [name_m]Bode[/name_m] though.
As for the family names and which side it’s on. My husband is not close to his family, he sadly doesn’t really speak to anyone but his siblings. [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] we knew was my grandma’s fathers name and we both loved it from the beginning. We just discovered he had a great great grandpa [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] 2 years ago. We already loved the name but did think it was cool it was on both sides since it’s not a name you hear today. However, he really doesn’t care about “family names” and wouldn’t be bothered if a name didn’t come from his side.
The name [name_m]Phillips[/name_m] is my dads middle name and a part of me does want to use it because of that fact. I actually like the name [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] more, but [name_m]Phillips[/name_m] has meaning also so I’m torn.
I don’t know why I’m not drawn to the [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] spelling and I wish I was because I always prefer original spellings and origins! That’s definitely something to think about because spelling matters! I don’t want people to mispronounce his name! Thank you!!
