Which name is better?

Thank you all for your opinions! Everyone’s opinion was very insightful and helpful!

Both are lovely but I prefer the sounds of [name_f]Calista[/name_f] and it’s potential nicknames. It feels so whimsical and magical but also very usable. [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is nice too though and I haven’t met many little [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]'s at all

Personally I’d choose [name_f]Calista[/name_f], but if you like [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] it shouldn’t be too common, at least not on kids. You could even use one as a middle if you wanted - [name_f]Calista[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Calista[/name_f] both make good combos in my opinion.

I also don’t know any young Victorias.

I recently saw a birth announcement with [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] as the middle name, but that’s it.

If you like the Greek sound of [name_f]Calista[/name_f] but not the look, what about [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]? Or maybe strike a middle ground with [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]?

I prefer [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], though I do like [name_f]Calista[/name_f] too. I didn’t think that [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is that popular now?

[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] by far.

I think both are strong, and gorgeous names! But [name_f]Calista[/name_f] would definitely win for me, since she’s unusual and unexpected too.

I prefer [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. It’s an established, regal classic that sounds very crisp. There are few names with the same sound, so it’s very distinct.

[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] for me. I actually go to church with [name_f]Kalista[/name_f] (she is about 8) and a friend recently used [name_f]Calista[/name_f] so that actually feels more common to me even though [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is much more common.

It sounds like you like both names but much prefer [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. Some would say say go with the name you like regardless of popularity. There is some truth to that. That said I can understand wanting something not as popular. Maybe something like [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]? It’s more common than [name_f]Calista[/name_f] but not as common as [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]

I’ve met only one [name_f]Calista[/name_f] in my life and although I haven’t met too many [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]'s either, it’s a much more well-known and classic name. If you’re going for uniqueness I’d go for [name_f]Calista[/name_f].
