The only trends I don’t like are the creative spellings which to me are misspellings and the use of male names for females.

I’m of mixed opinion about the male x trend. I love [name_u]Lennox[/name_u], which is classic, but can’t abide [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m]. But then again, it goes back to spelling (once an English teacher, always an English teacher apparently). [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] is spelled [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] and [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] is a newer version of the classic surname [name_m]Jackson[/name_m].

Mostly I am thrilled about nature, floral, jewel, place, and word names. I love words and so many of them make gorgeous names.

The virtue names I am mixed about. [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] and [name_m]Loyal[/name_m] I love, but [name_m]Bravery[/name_m] and [name_m]Noble[/name_m] creep me out.

You?

I really am curious about this question! Hopefully more votes will be cast.

Sorry I misread the question- I voted for creative spellings!

My favourite trend it definitely surnames as first and o ending boys names

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] surnames as firsts, I love that they can give a very preppy style, like [name_m]Rhodes[/name_m] or [name_u]Keaton[/name_u], or they can sound like a 1920s American gentleman, like [name_m]Truman[/name_m] or [name_m]Grover[/name_m], they can be jazzy like [name_m]Langston[/name_m] or [name_m]Booker[/name_m], or they can sound modern and cool like [name_m]Nash[/name_m] or Teller, be cowboyish like [name_m]Smith[/name_m] or [name_m]Boone[/name_m], irish charming, like a [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] or [name_m]Donavan[/name_m], or even upper crust english, like [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m] or [name_m]Byron[/name_m]

We named our son [name_u]Lennox[/name_u], which falls into several of these categories: X in a name, nature name, surname. That being said, we liked its classic, familiar, yet different appeal.

I’m a huge fan of word names, nature names, and old names made new again. Here are some of my favorites:

Nature:
[name_u]Oak[/name_u] (I know a couple who named their kid this. They own a local brewery in [name_m]Austin[/name_m]. He’s the coolest kid ever).
[name_u]Sage[/name_u] (a strong consideration if we have a girl)
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] (is this considered a nature name?)
[name_m]Birch[/name_m]
[name_u]North[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]

Word:
[name_u]Poet[/name_u] (I met a woman with this name once. She was intriguing.)
[name_u]August[/name_u] (two friends names their son this. It’s so handsome).
[name_f]India[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]

Old names new:
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m]

The three I voted for all go together: nature names, word names, and place names. I love a real word as a name, basically, haha.

I love word names too. So many words are more lovely to me than so many names.
