Which name would you choose?

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] (e-lay-na) or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] (pronounced the same way as in Frozen)

I much prefer [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. Especially since, depending on where you live, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] will most likely have pronunciation issues.

I think both have pronunciation issues. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] could be [name_f]Ell[/name_f]-in-uh or [name_f]El[/name_f]-ay-nuh. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is most likely to be said An-nuh, even with Frozen, I still here An-nuh all the time (I prefer the ah-nuh pronuncation as well). You might want to spell it [name_f]Ana[/name_f], but even then you might have issues in [name_u]America[/name_u].

That being said, I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f].

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] for me would be [name_f]El[/name_f]-EH-nuh and your pronunciation would [name_f]Elayna[/name_f] or [name_f]Elaina[/name_f]. I’ve never seen Frozen and only ever heard [name_f]Anna[/name_f] pronounced one way (how else would it be said?)

In Frozen it is pronounced, like in many European countries, as: [name_m]AH[/name_m]-[name_m]NUH[/name_m]
Here’s a clip in the movie when [name_f]Anna[/name_f] says her name: https://youtu.be/Z5wIzJr33Ko?t=27s

In [name_u]America[/name_u], it is often pronounced: AN (like [name_f]Anne[/name_f]) -UH

With that pronunciation of [name_f]Anna[/name_f], my favourite is definitely [name_f]Elena[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Elena[/name_f], but prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] for its sweetness and international character.

I think I’d pick [name_f]Elena[/name_f], though I do prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] - but with the [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-nuh pronunciation. That’s how I’d say it if I didn’t know.
