Would it feel as too much of a reach to name our baby [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] (after me, though I primarily go by [name_u]Angel[/name_u]) and nn her one of the following?
[name_f]Aya[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] (DH’s pick)
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
We don’t like any other variation of [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] ([name_f]Angela[/name_f], [name_u]Angie[/name_u], [name_f]Angelina[/name_f]) except [name_f]Angelique[/name_f] (which would take away half the nn possibilities)
We wouldn’t mind if she was just called [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] but as I do respond to [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] it might be confusing. Also I really love long names with nn’s so I’d end up wanting to give her a pet name at least anyway.
Which nn do you like best or thinks work best?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other suggestions (besides giving her a nn from the middle spot) that might work?
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] is the most natural nickname out of your choices in my opinion. I’d also like to suggest [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or [name_u]Angie[/name_u] as potential nicknames. However I do like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] best, but I may be biased since I really like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as a name to begin with.
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] would be the least confusing for her to be called, if you have the same first name.
If you’re concerned about confusion, why not put [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] in the middle name spot?
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] is the most natural to me, but [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] could also work.
[name_f]Angelica[/name_f] is very pretty! I like [name_f]Elle[/name_f] the best of the nickname options. Could [name_f]Gia[/name_f] work? All the letters are in there, and that is lovely too. [name_f]Callie[/name_f] would be even more of a stretch, but maybe?
I think it’s fine. I like [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. [name_f]Angelica[/name_f] is beautiful!
I don’t think those are a stretch at all.
Some more ideas:
[name_f]Ana[/name_f]
[name_f]Anya[/name_f]/[name_f]Anja[/name_f]
[name_f]Anka[/name_f]/[name_f]Anke[/name_f]
[name_f]Anica[/name_f]/[name_f]Annica[/name_f]/[name_f]Annika[/name_f]
Lika

[name_f]Elka[/name_f]
[name_f]Gigi[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] might work too (from [name_u]Angie[/name_u]–> Gi-gi or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]/Jelly/Lika–> Li-li), though they might seem a little forced if they don’t come about naturally for you.
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] is my favourite of those for [name_f]Angelica[/name_f]. [name_f]Nell[/name_f]?
