Which Pronunciation?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!

[name_f]Evie[/name_f] is on our list (not short for anything) but I am getting concerned about pronunciation.
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_f]Evie[/name_f], eh-vee or ee-vee?

Thanks!

I have always pronounced it as EE VEe

ee-vee. I’ve never heard anyone pronounce it the other way.

I personally say it as Eh-vee, but that might just be my Mexican side.
As in Spanish the E is pronounced Eh, not Ee.

But I guess it depends on how the person with the name pronounces it.
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] Mendes is Eh- va Mendes
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] Longoria is Ee-va Longoria

Whatever pronunciation you use people around you will catch up with it.

Ee-vee, I’ve never heard it pronounced eh-vee

To me it is Ee-vee, but have seen eh-vee on these boards, though never heard it in person x

I say [name_f]Evie[/name_f] like EE-vee, but [name_f]Evey[/name_f] like EV-ee. I really like both, though. [name_m]How[/name_m] were you hoping for it to be said?

Ee-vee… never heard it pronounced the other way

I’m not sue which I was hoping for, I like the sound of both of them. However I think I may like ee-vee a little more?

ee-vee.

Never heard it pronounced any other way.

Ee-vee is the only way I have heard it pronounced! Much prettier sounding than eh-vee

I’ve never heard it pronounced EE-vee. I would pronounce it EV-ee. (Ev like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]). I know at least 4 girls who’s names are [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] with nn [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Evie[/name_f],

It’s “ee-vee”. I’ve never heard the other one and I don’t really like it.

I say ee-vee.

I pronounce it ee-vee and have only heard it pronounced that way.

Ee-vee. I have only heard Eh-vee once and that was spelt [name_f]Evvy[/name_f].

I know I said this on your other post, but I feel like I should speak up for the Eh-vee minority on this post!

I would say it Eh-vee, because I would assume it was a nick name for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. I like eh-vee a lot better than ee-vee. Eh-vee is just easier to say, to me.

The only way I like it pronounced is ee-vee.

I knew an eh-vee which I always assumed was a nn for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].

I would say ee-vee but I do prefer the other pronounciation more. Ee-vee seems too cutesy [name_f]IMO[/name_f] and more of a nn but it is a nice name I must admit.
