Rosemary – can’t use for personal reasons Adarose – adore this one, but Ada is already my top five Rosamine – for some reason I don’t quite love the look//sound quite enough Rosenwyn: love, but I have no Welsh roots Rosie/Rosy/Rosey: I want to love this on its own, but something about it just doesn’t work for me
And some smoosh “-rose” names just came up with but am less sure about:
Some of these stick out more than others, but I’m not convinced. So, out of all of these names, which do you think should become my permanent “Rose” combo? You can pick as many as you like and from any category, but fewer would be ideal so that I can truly narrow down my choices.
I would also appreciate an explanation of any reasoning you have behind your choice(s) if you feel like sharing, as I’m quite easily swayed by a good argument, but of course that isn’t necessarily!
(Also, Blessing as the middle isn’t set in stone, so don’t worry about the first name sounding good with that particular middle!)
I understand your struggle… so many amazing “rose” names and it’s impossible to use all of them! Out of all that you’ve listed, my absolute favorite is [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
Not only is she super underrated but still aligned with the popularity of “flower names,” but she is also a simply stunning choice – elegant and feminine, powerful and pink, with the lovely nickname choices of [name_f]Prim[/name_f], [name_f]Posie[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. I simply adore the meaning – “first rose,” which comes with the lovely symbolism of being the first warmth of spring after a long winter. Additionally, [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_m]Blessing[/name_m] is a breathtaking combo, and I would LOVE to see this on a little girl someday!
If I had to choose a second and first runner up, I would pick [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] (I like the soft sound) and Gwenrose (so many nickname options!).
Primrose Blessing is beautiful! I agree with pp about the meaning. It’s just perfect.
I also really like Rosamine and Wynrose. I’ve never heard of Rosamine. Is it pronounced with a “meen” sound at the end? Or more similar to Jasmine? I love either one.
Wynrose is a sweet way to get both Wynnie and Rosie as nicknames.
I really like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] for you - sleek and elegant, sweet and pretty, with a bit of sparkle, free-spiritedness, and a connection to nature. It gives a hint of ‘story-book’ magic without feeling over the top and it offers nicknames [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Ro[/name_f], [name_f]Posy[/name_f], [name_m]Poe[/name_m], [name_f]Prim[/name_f], Imi, and [name_m]Pip[/name_m] which is fun,
I also enjoy:
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] - for it’s sharp elegance, the way it feels almost descriptive (like leonine or aquiline) but also feels really name-y and pretty and strong - plus, a hint of [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] too.
Willarose - playful, charming and free, with a wild yet gentle feel to it
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], and Primrose——they’re classy, velvety, and have a resplendence to them. [name_m]Just[/name_m] for fun I’ve added some playful, and somewhat unorthodox, spins on [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] below. I hope you find what you’re looking for!
All these [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names are stunning and pulling at the heart strings
However [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] just has the whimsical, ethereal feel of your style. [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] sounds pretty with [name_m]Blessing[/name_m] in the middle name spot she also just works with the likes of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Hallelujah[/name_f] and [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Pax[/name_m]. A little wordy, unexpected and magical.
I love [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]! Other ideas could be
[name_f]Rosita[/name_f] (Spanish name meaning little rose or Rosie) or [name_f]Rosalia[/name_f] x
I hope you find the perfect name!
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_m]Blessing[/name_m] is magical! It’s so beautiful.
I’m crazy about [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names. They’re sweet and colorful. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are the timeless [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and the enchanting [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]. I also really admire [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f].
I think you can also consider:
Rosabeth
[name_f]Rosamel[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosaura[/name_f]
[name_f]Bellerose[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosebud[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosabel[/name_f]
Rosangela
Rosaminta
[name_f]Rosary[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosegold[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemay[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalba[/name_f]
I’m maybe not the best person to respond as I’m not a Rose person, but my favorites seem to be the unusual ones that you also seem to have written off:
Adarose
Rosenwyn
Rosamine
Rosie
Rosemary
Della-Rose is very sweet but I like it more than Dellarose. (Same with Ada-Rose over Adarose, actually!)
I also like Primrose but would definitely pair it with a different middle (though I love Blessing with the rest!)
Are you committed to using one of these? I only ask because overall you seem rather hesitant about most of them. How do you feel about Rosamund, Rosina, Rosa, Rosabel, Rosalba, Ambrosia/Ambrosine, Generosa, Marie-Rose, Rosanna, Rosaura, Rosetta? I always rather liked the idea of Ambrosia nn Rosie especially
Besides the options I listed above, maybe Everose/Eve-Rose? I’m a sucker for a good Eve double barrel (Eve-Claire is still a huge GP?), and she feels very storybook. Eve-Rose Blessing does feel very wordy but I like it anyway… or with another middle. I’d probably do her, Della-Rose, or maybe Wynrose, Wynrose also feels very storybook.
ETA: yes to Rosamel! There was a berry on here when I first joined who had a Josephine Rosamel Anne… Rosamel is brilliant and I wish she got more love. I love Rosamel for you!
[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]!
[name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] is very underrated imo. I see a lot of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] on the forums but never [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]. It’s sweet and gentle without the saccharine sweetness of [name_f]Primrose[/name_f].
[name_f]My[/name_f] top 3 would be:
Adarose: [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] combo, not too over-done.
[name_f]Rosie[/name_f]: Cute and spunky, I think she can stand on her own.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]: A bit more than [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] but just as sweet.
[name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorite is [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] or Siena-Rose, although some may feel Siena-Rose is a bit too flowery, but I like it anyway.
Primrose Blessing is sooo gorgeous and magical! It’s definitely my favourite!
I have the same thing with Rose-names. I adore them (I mean, even my username is a Rose-name ), but I can’t seem to find ‘the one’, and I keep changing my mind about them every other day.
From your Rose-names, my top 3 is:
Rosemary (I’m just in a sweet cottagecore mood )
Primrose (such a stunning springtime lovely)
Rosaline (I was thinking of switching it to Dellarose… Rosaline is so royal, Dellarose is so cute… I can’t really decide )
My current other favourites:
Annerose
Melrose
Minnarosa
Rosamie
Rosenelle
Lillarose
Roselore
Rosabeth
Ethelrose
Rosalind
Rosamund
Rose/ Rosie (my favourite until I started to associate it with a character from a TV series my partner uses as an ASMR every night. But these days I can disassociate again and my love has returned )
