Which sounds better?

If it’s a girl, her middle name will be [name_u]Ray[/name_u] after grandpa so I’m working on a first name and I really like [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f]. The only thing really holding me back is that her sister is [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. And our last name is kind of long too- 9 letter with 3 syllables. What do you all think? I love [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Julia[/name_f] too.
Thanks!

[name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] for a boy!

[name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] does no sound good even without a sister called [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] would be darling though.

I like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u]! Super cute!

I think [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] is a beautiful name! And it goes with the rose theme in your family already. Gorgeous. I wouldn’t change a thing!

I don’t like the alliteration of [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] already has a “[name_f]Rose[/name_f]” name so I prefer [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] ([name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] have similar endings). I think this daughter deserves her own name not a version of her sister’s mn.

Alliteration isn’t my cup of tea…so I’m not fond of [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u]. My favorite would be [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u]. I love the nn “[name_u]Jules[/name_u]” too!

I do love the nn [name_u]Jules[/name_u], which is why I was picking [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] as one! I also love [name_f]Willow[/name_f], but does [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] flow? [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m], [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and… ?!

Going by your username, I’m guessing your surname is M@rtineau and if it’s pronounced the [name_m]French[/name_m] way (last syllable is “no”) [name_f]Willow[/name_f] would rhyme with it. I think [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] make a splendid sibling trio.

Thanks [name_u]Mischa[/name_u], and it is! Didn’t think out that user name too well… :flushed:

[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] better than [name_f]Julia[/name_f] Mescha?

I think [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] sounds gorgeous, actually.

I don’t mind alliteration in general and I quite like [name_u]Rae[/name_u]/[name_u]Ray[/name_u] for a girl, but [name_f]Rosalyn[/name_f] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] doesn’t really work for me. Especially with another [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in the family. R names minus [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- names can be kind of challenging, my remaining favourites are [name_f]Roxana[/name_f], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]…? Not sure what to think of them with [name_u]Ray[/name_u].

I had [name_u]Rae[/name_u] on my own list as a middle name, it’s very spunky and cute.

I prefer [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] to [name_f]Julia[/name_f] partly just for the lighter, girlier sound ([name_f]Julia[/name_f] seems older and more dour to me) and partly for having more nicknames: the same [name_u]Julie[/name_u]/[name_u]Jules[/name_u] but also [name_u]Jet[/name_u], which is cute as a nickname.

The other name I like which is also an old English feminization of [name_m]Julian[/name_m], is [name_f]Jillian[/name_f]/[name_f]Gillian[/name_f]. I find [name_f]Jill[/name_f]/[name_f]Jilly[/name_f]/[name_u]Gilly[/name_u] rather picture-book old-fashioned and cute. [name_m]Both[/name_m] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] and [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] sound good to my ear, the rhythm is nice.
