And I would say [name]Terra[/name] like this: TARE-[name]AH[/name]

Then I would go with [name]Terra[/name]. That’s the only one I would say like [name]Sarah[/name]. The others I would instinctively say it like [name]Lara[/name].
If you want it to sound like [name]Sarah[/name], then [name]Terra[/name].
I think your daughter will spend her life saying. ‘No, [name]Tarah[/name] with a h’. Most people on hearing it will write [name]Tara[/name], which didn’t used to matter so much but with email addresses really does - I speak as a [name]Catherine[/name] who spends a lot of time spelling out her name - please go for the most common option of [name]Tara[/name]. I sympathies because we loved the [name]Brighid[/name] spelling but used [name]Bridget[/name] because that’s what 99% of people will write where we live.
I wouldn’t say [name]Terra[/name] and [name]Tara[/name] with the same pronunciation at all. I like [name]Terra[/name] and dislike [name]Tara[/name].
Not only would I not say them the same, neither rhymes with [name]Sarah[/name] to me. So colour me baffled.
I like the [name]Tarah[/name] spelling the best. I would say them all as rhyming with [name]Sarah[/name].
I’m thinking I prefer [name]Terra[/name] as it’s more straightforward pronunciation wise and feels more whimsical, but I immediately thought of the video game.
I would’ve never thought to pronounce [name]Tarah[/name] and [name]Tara[/name] to rhyme with [name]Sarah[/name]. They look like “tar-uh” and that’s probably what they’ll get.
I actually like [name]Tara[/name] best. The second would be [name]Terra[/name]. The ‘h’ looks unnecessary in the other one (plus it will always be missed anyway). GL

I’ve heard [name]Tara[/name] both tah-rah and tayr-uh, but I really love [name]Terra[/name].
My given name was [name]Tara[/name], pronounced with a hard a to rhyme with [name]Sara[/name]. I changed the spelling to [name]Terra[/name] when I was 18 because [name]Tara[/name] is pronounced with a soft a to rhyme with car-a outside of the US and I travel/live abroad quite a bit.
I would suggest using [name]Terra[/name] if you prefer that pronunciation since there hasn’t been any confusion anywhere and I’ve received tons of compliments since I changed it.
I like [name]Terra[/name] the best out of all of them, followed by [name]Tara[/name], and then [name]Tarah[/name].
I am from the NY tri-stae area. To me, [name]Sarah[/name] is pronounced “Sah-ra”. My husband is from MD and would pronounce it “Sair-a”. Others, still, would say “Sar-a”. Pick the spelling you like best. It’s a name people are going to pronounce differently geographically speaking anyway.
[name]Just[/name] an aside, I would pronounce [name]Terra[/name], “Teh-ra” - the e like “eh” how one would teach a child learning to read.
[name]Terra[/name] is the literal translation from Latin and will probably be what people think of when they hear your daughters name. And I think it is the prettiest spelling : )

The extra H on [name]Tara[/name] just looks unnecessary. I guess, [name]Terra[/name] isn’t sooo bad if you’re looking for a nature-esque name. But, I wouldn’t use it. Makes me think of dirt. Not a particular image I would want to bestow on a child.
I have several friends name [name]Tara[/name]. All the Taras around here call themselves Tare- ah. Actually I had one friend whom the teacher asked how do you pronounce [name]Tara[/name]? Tare-[name]Ah[/name] or Tar-ah and she didn’t know. Her parents didn’t care about pronunciation and neither did she.
I would pronounce all three spellings the same way, but the other two feel like [name]Olyvia[/name] to me.
Pick a spelling that makes you happy but be prepared for people to pronounce it in ways you don’t expect. (Especially in different regions of the country). ([name]One[/name] of my friends once lectured me about [name]Carrie[/name] vs. [name]Kerry[/name], but I pronounce 'em the same way. I would [name]Lara[/name] (Lar-a) differently than [name]Laura[/name], but [name]Tanya[/name] rhyming it with [name]Anya[/name]. I pronounce [name]Sarah[/name] (Sare-ah) which is how I thought everyone pronounced it.)
