Which spelling: Mikayla or Michaela?

I’m not having kids anytime soon, but I would like to know which spelling you prefer. [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] is the traditional way, but some people think that it sounds like “[name_u]Michael[/name_u]-ah” upon first reading it, and they tend to prefer the spelling [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] as they think it makes more sense. On the other hand, some people don’t like the spelling [name_f]Mikayla[/name_f] because it isn’t the traditional spelling.

What side are you on?

You would probably get more responses posting in the [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Names forum…this is the [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Name Games forum.

To answer your question, I prefer the traditional spelling of [name_f]Michaela[/name_f].

Sorry, newbie here! Thanks for the suggestion and your answer

Definitely I prefer [name_f]Michaela[/name_f]. It looks more authentic. I really don’t like any of its variations as they are so deviated from the original.
